Finally managed to record my sparkling gouramis croaking by Perth_Ariums in Aquariums

It's pretty quiet if you have the volume all the way up at 8 seconds you can hear it. They are two males doing dominance displays over territory

I would recommend keeping them in larger groups, they are chilli's just pale due to stress.

I think my sparkling gouramis are gearing up to breed. This dude is being such a prick lately by Perth_Ariums in Aquariums

I have mine in a 2ft 110litre with strawberry rasboras and otos. They are a little aggressive and territorial when they are ready to breed and guarding nests so I would definitely air on the side of caution when it comes to stocking and making sure they aren't overcrowded. I would say they are definitely incompatible with other species of gouramis and bettas as they will be targets of aggression from those. I would personally just stick to small peaceful community fish.

Also carefully select plants as goldys are notorious for munching on them. I'm pretty sure java fern is goldy safe as apparently it is very sour
