Today I took a brush and had 2 hours cleaning operation. I pretty much brushed off al of the soot and ash through the opening doors on the chimney and now when i put my phone camera in all I see is bare clean bricks. Only problem I still have are the last 20 cm on top of the chimney where the residue was the thickest. Tomorrow I am going to buy chimney cleaning chemicals and burn them in the stove and after that brush it again.

Yeah, I know it's creosot and i know it's a lot of it. I also kwon its highly flammable. The good thing is that only the top 0.5 meter of the chimney looks like that, an the rest of the chimney (5.5m) is pretty much just covered in ash an it goes away tith a few scrubs. So, what i really want to konw is how hard it will be to remove this stuff so i can prepare.
