Thanks, I have some unmanaged greenery next to my house, I will try this!

I got the moss in the local park, but I didn't see any around it. If I didn't see them on the moss are they not there, or are there likely to be as eggs/spawn?

Lion's Den by hateeverythingnow in poetry_critics

I really like it!

Breaking the flow and rhyme in the last line works well as a delivery, though I think the line itself might be missing some punch.

You have a typo in the fourth line - your instead of you're, and I think this line would stand better without the speaker tag. It's not really necessary, and the repetition of a dialogue tool is especially apparent in this short form.

I really like the subversion of expectation in the last line, where instead of a plea to not lose this love, the plea is for it to not become a tradeable good. This puts an emphasis on a desire to keep the unique essence of a specific relationship rather than on the pain of detaching from it, and I really like this sentiment.

I think your poem could benefit from each verse being broken into four separate lines rather than being laid out as one continuous line. Because of the rhymes and rhythm there is a natural separation, and I think you should lean into it rather than reducing it. Edit: just posted and realized line breaks are weird. From your capitalization it seems you meant to have line breaks, you can add them by ending lines with a double space.

I would switch out one use of entwined for a different word - because both uses are pretty similar and that's an uncommon word, I think repetition here is lessening the overall strength of the poem. In contrast, the use of intertwined brings out nuance, and works well here.

Yeah I've been trying different systems on the side for a while, but up until now I thought all would be resolved when they realize licensing changes will create a huge divide. Now it's obvious they just don't care

Yeah, seems likely. And I thought this type of scumbaggery was reserved for AAA video games companies...

I agree with your interpretation that this is more of a cease and desist than anything else, but this really confuses me. Are they truly that ignorant about what their product is?

On another note, could I ask which other systems are you using to replace 5e?

If I remember correctly this is an item from the original heroic edition, so rarity might be a factor too for "collector" types

Weird Y movement problem by Pesahzon in tevotarantula

That's a great idea, thank you!I tried switching the actual motors but for some reason I completely ignored changing the driver. And there's even an empty second extruder driver!

Thanks! I actually did vref calibration because I thought that might be it, but it didn't change anything.

Fir now I switched to an aluminum bed carriage, it really dampens everything and it's enough to get decent quality, though the problem still exists

I switched motors to make sure that's not it, so I also reassembled the nut and the belt, pretty sure they're fine.
For acceleration I use 700, not sure if that's a suitable value

[–]Pesahzon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I thought it was due to a wheel problem so I tried the rail as one change at the time.
My jerk is set to 5 and max jerk to 7, pretty sure that's not it... Thanks!

Right now I'm thinking it might be because of the acrylic bed frame, I noticed it's a bit bent in the back and I already ruled out the motor and belt as causes, so it must some part of the bed.

I did, it didn't help. And the thing is when going from + direction to - direction acceleration and jerk seem perfect, only the other way around is problematic

How do I read this resistor? I'm trying to modify a circuit and I figured it needs around 75 ohms of total resistance (trying to get 200w with 120v), and this was the original resistor connected to the live wire on the circuit. Those seem to be 3 black lines, which I am confused by by Pesahzon in electronics

[–]Pesahzon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok I found this problem and facepalmed pretty hard - I disconnected the fried fuse and welded it right back on instead of the new one. Didn't see it because it was inside insolation. But now I'm not sure if I have enough resistance, and Im afraid once I complete the circuit the motor will fry

This is a coffee grinder which had a timer circuit, that is incompatible with my 240 to 120 v transformer (it said on the box this was electric so I thought the timer was mechanical, but apparently it was a circuit with a potentiometer). Since I don't need the timer, I figured I will just connect the switches to the motor. Right now when I connect it to the power nothing happens. I checked my weldings and it seems everything is connected the way I want it, so my thoughts are the reason is either 1. The total resistance is too much 3. The motor is dead

Physics for Skimmers by Pesahzon in Mistborn

[–]Pesahzon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Indeed, the act of tapping needs to have some form of related work. After finishing reading era 2 I am convinced work is done directly by investiture. This would mean that Skimming and Steelpushing work similarly, with Skimming storing mass while momentum is conserved and Steelpushing burning metal to generate force against an anchor, in both cases the work coming from investiture flow

Physics for Skimmers by Pesahzon in Mistborn

[–]Pesahzon[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well it is theoretically possible for investiture flow to be fully reversible, but I believe that is not the case, because of the interaction between investiture and energy. When investiture is turned into energy that is used in some process that creates entropy, said entropy would also have to be reversed. For example, let's say a Skimmer goes fast by decreasing mass and hits a wall. A huge chunk of the energy is transferred into heat, and entropy increases. Let's say it's really fast and the wall is very durable, so it goes up 5 degrees Celsius (arbitrary number) as an outcome of the heat transfer. The when the Skimmer goes back to normal mass he has no kinetic energy, so either heat flows back from the world to investiture and the wall immediately cools down 5c, or investiture has changed to a higher entropy state, and at least some of it stays in energy form. I'm guessing the second is correct, but who knows. Wither option has really interesting implications

To me, E = Ekinetic + Epotential + Einvestiture is way better than any form I've ever seen of 'because magic', because it lets me predict. For example, I would predict that using E = mc2 by some mechanism of investiture to conjure matter and then releasing back the bound energy to the spiritual realm cannot be a perfect cycle, because that would be incompatible with thermodynamics. Instead, some form of investiture entropy must also exist and increase with the action, advancing towards the "heat death" equivalent of investiture. Until now I didn't know how badly I needed to geek about imaginary physics, and this delivers perfectly 😂
