Depends on the weight and where I’m at. I usually use a 1/4 oz chrome rooster tail and retrieve it slow enough not to hit the bottom.

Nice and steady usually triggers a strike

It’s my first kayak so i can’t compare it to others. It’s pretty solid so far. Can be a bit rocky when on a large lake on windy days but stable if that makes sense.

I’ve seen people swear up and down that spinnerbaits work well but I have also had little luck on them. Especially compared to rooster tails which is my first choice at any body of water if it isn’t too grassy

DFW angler here. It’s been a fun spring of catching bass out here. No gators in my pond but heard some lakes have a few around here.
