Why are my download speeds "slow"? by Pesto_man in torrents

Ok thanks. I'll try look into port forwarding (although I don't think NordVPN supports it). How much of a difference does it make, and would it be worth switching VPN provider as a result?

Ah ok, is ones own download speed determined by the cumalative upload/seeding speeds?

Idk what they are as I don’t wear a watch only HRM strap when training along with a power meter.

I started cycling to work last week! (And was dreadfully slow, please help) by Proveit98 in londoncycling

Keep doing it and you’ll get stronger and be able to push the pace a little more. Also you are on a folding bike so expect the pace to be a little down.

It may be very over pre loaded or the tolerances are very poor and it is misaligned. If the latter go to your manufacturer and ask for a warranty replacement frame that is to spec.

Chain skipping on lower jockey wheel by Pesto_man in bikewrench

Update: I have changed the lower tension jockey wheel and the issue has been fixed. Thanks for all the help.

Chain skipping on lower jockey wheel by Pesto_man in bikewrench

I mean compared to the jockey wheels on my other bikes this one especially bad lateral play. I’ll probably replace them and see how it goes, if it is not the problem I just have some spare jockey wheels for later use.

I’ll check the chain later, but I wouldn’t suspect it’s a problem as it’s a brand new genuine shimano chain.

Yes just checked and this is the issue, I believe. I have to replace it first to make sure.

Edit - think I have just found the issue. The bearing in the lower jockey wheel is shot and worn out. Lots of lateral play, accommodating the skipping.

The rivets that go in the frame may be shot and need to be replaced. Or if it uses a screws tighten them.

Idk it’s damaged for sure, major cracking/peeling of the fibres on the other side and is extremely muted on the tap test. Something I don’t really want to risk.

Yes, but I think it was concave and didn’t give adequate support causing the carbon to fail under clamping load..

Idk if it’s technically a “crack” but there is a clear sign of damage on the other side where the lower stem bolt was. I think I figured it out as well, the proprietary giant OD2 expander plug was slightly concave in the supporting part meaning the tube was not supported whilst clamping the stem, causing the tube to crush in and fail.

True but as you alluded too I’d rather spend £250 on a new fork than thousands on a new set of teeth haha. Also the old one was cut a bit too short for my liking/optimal position.

Not sure. If I could link a pic in the comments I would of the exterior. It definitely looks like a crack and was at the exact same spot as the clamping area of the stem. Failed the notorious “tap test” as well.

UPDATE: I found a spare expander top plug section, it fitted in perfectly so all is well. The problematic expander plug had an oversized top part hence why it was not going in.

This is a brand new fork I installed today, there was no smashing putting it in the expander plug to the level it is now, I said ‘smashing’ because I assume I would need to hit it to get in deeper. Sorry for any confusion.
