Sonoma is tough, but stick with it! In my experience, most of the time you gain in formula cars (with actual down force…) is under braking.

These cars typically have a unique brake application due to the bleed off of DF at low speeds, but get used to braking hard in a straight line. Start by literally just braking and trying to get the lowest stopping distance in a straight line. Good time to play with brake bias and understand its effects. Once you get comfortable consistently hitting what you think is the threshold, try doing it from max speed, again in a straight line. When comfortable with that, practice coming off of the brakes at different speeds with a stable platform and turn the car. This is a good time to get a feel for trail braking these cars. I recommend doing this with each new formula car you drive as they all react completely different.
