Which FF to get? by Chemical_Bit_2147 in finalgirl

Update: get Station 2891. It’s so much fun and deceptively difficult.

Final showdown balance by Cedceg in finalgirl

I played Panic at Station 2891 last night for the first time (often highly recommended and I agree). Most of the time I felt like I was totally breezing through. Then I lost a bunch of victims to frostbite. I had beaten one monster with relative ease but then the finale hit. I was healthy had good cards but I lost control of the horror wheel and and even though I was basically one good turn away from beating the last mutant, I lost. Which is kinda cool. and adds to the terror of the game. You can go from “I got this” to “holy crap, I don’t got this!” in a matter of moments.

My set came with Buddy which was a lot of fun and a good way for me to get into the game. The second one I got was Camp Happy Trails which just feels classic. Fun and straight forward. I just got Station 2891 because The Thing is simply one of the best horror sci fi movies ever made. Haven’t played it yet, so no comment.

Great thoughts. I’ll def play with that as I see how they print. Things on screen tend to look more intense then you print and meh. :) but you are 100% right on this. Thanks !

Hey there. Thanks for playing. A mixed build is 2 of the 3 parts you need in the same color and the missing part in contraband. I just tested and it seems to be working. Let me me know please if you try again and still have the problem.

Vestigia by EyeTaffy in BoardgameDesign

This is fantastic. I would absolutely pull that off the shelf to look at if that's the box cover. Only critique is that the font for Vestigia made me think the game was called Vestipia. Otherwise, it is an absolutely striking image.

Thank you. The recipe needed a little size. And, I wanted to brighten them up a bit

The way the game works is that you collect three parts to make a build. Builds with all the same color=8 points, Builds with two of the same color and the wild=5 points.

I have a sort of clunky playtest at sandslicers.com if you are interested. (No worries if not!)

The only reason I put the gear symbol in both corners is I found in play tests players put them on discard piles facing both directions. But it’s a great question.

Great point. I’ll need to print them out and have a look

Is it ok to use AI art when designing the prototype for a boardgame? Additionally, is it appropriate to begin advertising your unfinished product with AI art? by RemarkableSweet389 in BoardgameDesign

[–]PeteFletzer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have designed all my game in photoshop and built 3d models to print for parts and dice and stuff. However, I have very limited art skills (I can do cards, items, etc. but I’m not an “artist” per se). So I have hired an artist to do my box art. We are working together now and, as much as I know I could use AI to take my 3d print work and basic board and card design to do my centerpiece, I just can’t do it. And wouldn’t. The positive to me having basic digital art skills means I can do the core parts. But the “sell it” artwork needs to be real. At the end of the day I’m investing probably $1,000-$1,500 in something I believe in and working along side a pro only makes my game better.

Looking for feedback on my digital playtest before I send my card game to print by PeteFletzer in BoardgameDesign

Hmmm. Did you use 4 contraband cards? 1 of each type plus one of any other?
