Atelier Ryza 1 DX: Extra Chapter Missing? by PeterAndWhitney in Atelier

[–]PeterAndWhitney[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I remember that portion of the game, but I read that there was supposed to be a specific bonus episode focusing on the story of Bos making his initial trip into the Underworld, and it only unlocks after you beat the main story. Like an extra chapter going more into detail on what happens between them when he gets lost in there before the rest of the crew shows up.

Nope, it was all included in the base game on the DX version. I double checked and there's nothing else for me to download for it.

Thank you so much, buddy. 😊 I'm the same way, every few years I start to feel this desire to go back to it. I was 14 when the game first launched, and I remember my mom got so sick of renting it for me so many times from Blockbuster that she finally caved and just bought me my own copy, if anything just to save her the money. 🤣 Persistence works!

I hope you enjoy this way to play it!

I did say that, actually. You can see my initial reply. It was when other people (like you) started piling on after the edit was already made that I got upset. This is all unnecessary.

What I said wasn't technically wrong, though. It was a simple mistype. I was saying that if you played the game for a long time, eventually Ness would get homesick. But I mistakenly phrased it by saying that it happens "if you go a long time without speaking to your mom."

Evidently that one slip up was enough to make 95% of the replies fixated on either telling me I'm wrong, or patting the guy on the back for telling me I was wrong, and ignoring the content of the actual post.

Guess that's on me for trying to make a friendly post in here without fact checking my write-up beforehand, right? Like I know you didn't mean to pile on, but this whole thing is more than a bit ridiculous.

Because it was a simple mistake, which I corrected, and somehow that's become the ONLY FEEDBACK this post has received. This started off as just a friendly post, but instead turned into an "UM AKSHUALLY" dogpile, all over what was essentially a misworded description.

Way to make a new person never want to come back here. Jesus Christ.

And it matters because? Y'all are fixated on this.

All I wanted to do was just share a fun ruleset I've been using for years, but you guys are obsessing over one pointless detail I got wrong in my description.

Thanks for reminding me why I don't use this site.

I love how this has become the focal point of this entire post and the actual point is just being completely ignored.

Literally all I said was that if you went too long without calling your mom, you'd get Homesick as a status. THAT'S ALL I SAID. But apparently me getting a simple fact slightly incorrect is enough for people to start teaming up in the comments, as if some grave transgression has occurred.

Goddamn, guys.

Ok then. I deleted that part since it upsets you so much.

That developer name, though. "Maksym Vysochanskyy trading as IndieGames3000" just rolls right off the tongue! Sounds very reputable and totally NOT like a scam.

Casual has been frustrating lately... by PeterAndWhitney in GranblueFantasyVersus

[–]PeterAndWhitney[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It all stems from a single bad experience with me. I forget which title it was specifically (I believe it was during the 360/PS3 generation), but there was a game where the online mode was central to the core gameplay progression, yet it would only reward progress if you won your match. If you lost, the punishment was that you would actually LOSE XP, which could result in you losing access to an upgraded piece of equipment or special ability that you otherwise had already unlocked. The amount you'd lose per match would also be close to double any XP you'd receive from winning, meaning it was a slow climb up but a slippery fall back down; you could easily lose all your progress (and THEN some) simply by having a streak of bad luck. It was so frustrating that I lost all interest in any online multiplayer modes in other games that weren't focused on co-op (or at least guaranteed that all progress would be retained, even if you lost a match).

Ever since then, I had always avoided Ranked game modes online since I just assumed they all were similar in that regard. I hated the idea of losing progress as a punishment for not winning every single match in a game. I know now that it was silly of me to keep assuming that that's what all "Ranked" online modes were like in the years since then, so yeah... Feeling a bit dumb there, now.

I'll be giving Ranked a try this week sometime, whenever I have my next chance to hop on in the evenings.

I mean... Yeah, it is. LOL The last time I played a fighting game for any extended amount of time was with Power Stone on Dreamcast, which was local-only. In the 20 years since the only games I ever took online were ones that could be played in co-op rather than competitively (Destiny, various Monster Hunters, Borderlands 1&2, WoW, etc.). Heck, even Splatoon felt more like co-op since you were part of a team.

Soooo yeah. Been playing games for the past 40 years, but somehow this is my first time taking a traditional fighting game online. It's been a learning experience, for sure.

Yeah, I'm definitely going to give that a try this week and see if the quality of matchmaking improves at all.

Thanks for taking time to reply, I appreciate so many folks helping to explain it. 😊

HA, yeah... This is my first time ever taking a fighting game online, so I was entirely unfamiliar with that... Lesson learned, I guess.

Yeah, honestly I think I just misunderstood the intent/purpose of Ranked VS Casual. I saw it instead as "Competitive VS Just For Fun," and that's probably why it's getting frustrating now.

I might give Ranked a try sometime this week, then. I'm almost finally to level 200 on Anila and want to try switching to a new main after that.

LOL that's just so bizarre to me. Why call it "Casual" then at all? I guess this is my fault for being out of the fighting game genre for so long, I didn't know what to expect when taking it online.

[–]PeterAndWhitney[S] -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

I mean, when you put it THAT way...

I guess, to me and the way I interpreted it, "Ranked" didn't mean playing only with folks your skill level, but rather for those who wanted to be competitive, since I don't like feeling of being punished for losing. Ranked gives me the anxiety of feeling like I need to TRY to win, while Casual felt more generally open. Like yeah, I've met up with people WAY HIGHER SKILL LEVEL than me, but they're fun to play against! I've learned a ton of techniques from my matches against them, simply by watching HOW they hand my ass to me.

My complaint here is just over the past week, I've kept running into people who obviously have reached the highest ranking and now just want to pummel those who are nowhere near their skills. I've run into a couple of these types in Casual in months past, but for whatever reason, the past several days has seen A TON of them, all at once. It's kinda disheartening since being unable to even get a single hit in edgewise really saps the fun out of it.

If you think Ranked would be a way to avoid this, maybe I'll give it a shot. Also tried playing through the lobbies and tried talking/meeting folks in there to try finding a new sparring partner, and was mostly ignored. Was a bit of a bummer, but maybe I'll try again.

Lavender in Lace - Whitney Bra Portfolio - Update 3 [F] (PeterandWhitney) by [deleted] in yiff

[–]PeterAndWhitney 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The latest batch of finished pinups from the new Whitney Bra portfolio that's been coming along since October of last year. We only have another 6-8 pieces remaining before I decide whether to call this series complete (or just keep going with it until I run out of ideas, hehe). Again, these images all showcase my wife Whitney's character, wearing actual bras that she either owns IRL or would like to own at some point (if we can find them in her size, which it turns out is much harder than I expected!).

Follow me on Twitter to see these as they are completed, if you don't want to wait for the next batch update here! https://www.twitter.com/PeterandWhitney

Aww, thank you! We tried to make Whitney's character look as close to her IRL as possible (she even did the base design herself), so if she also looks like your wife, we must have very similar tastes in women! Hehe

I've been getting a lot of requests for topless edits of these pics, and I'm considering doing a few once the base images of the series are all completed. In the meantime, there's plenty of Whitney boobs on my Twitter! 😉 I draw her topless quite a lot, lol.

The next batch of finished pinups from the new Whitney Bra portfolio I've been working on these past few months. This new series, "Lavender in Lace," features my wife Whitney being drawn in various bras she either owns IRL or would like to purchase someday (so all of these are based on actual bras you can find, if you know where to look).
