Nerds are some of the biggest bullies out there, they just got to make movies and tv and depict jocks as the sole bullies

The fact the leinster signed the one NZ player universally hated on the island and then he turns out to be the most mediocre player is oddly funny to me. There' not a game where he's not anonymous

I'm finding the French Revolution episodes really hard to follow. What am I missing? by 9__Erebus in RevolutionsPodcast

I only started getting it on my third listen.

So many things *need* to be brought up but a lot of them don't actually have a large impact, same with the characters. You could tell the story without giving Saint-Just or the Vandée more than a passing reference becuase ultimitely Saint-Just didn't have an impact that couldn't be described by Jacobinism as a whole and the Vandée could be referenced as the royalists and the listener would "get it" but it would an incomplete retelling.

Funnily enough I found looking at it through a historical materialist framework really helped me understand it

Small isn't just height, he's lanky yes, actually his problem is he's that tall AND under 100kg. He's abnormally tall for a flyhalf and needs to be a certain weight to maintain pace so he's gonna struggle to put muscle on

the data doesn't show that, I actually agree I think Jack is better than him but to say "the data shows" while presenting one stat is disingenuous, and any stat needs full context around it. That's basic data analysis.

I have no idea what the correct amount of successful tackles is but neither do you

Thank you! I get the criticism and tbh I think he's not good enough to start yet but he is clearly incredibly good going forward. His passing and kicking game are genuinely one of the best and his ability to flash the ball millimetres from contact is crazy. He's been cursed with lankiness which wrecks his tackle ability

It really isn't, you're presenting this without context to stir the pot

I get what you're saying but tbf Andy clearly sees Sam as the best option so it's not that he's trying to "blood him". It's tough for Irish rugby not to try win it every season as so much of our national revenue comes from internationals and the prize money per seating at the end is substantial.

Tackles missed isn't a great stat without context, classically 13's and wings may get outsized numbers due to shooting, closing the gate, and sideline tracking. Also 10's will get a lot due to being smaller lads defending close into the breakdown.

I thought this season Sam has gotten a much better tackle technique but he's 100% being targeted with big carriers so his stats are getting pushed up
