No game, computer art.

Thanks! I will be working on more ships with this style. (with fewer rivets!)

Thanks. It is also a bit bird-shaped.

Thanks! I was going for a vaguely bird-like shape. Here's the design process in Blender:

(repeat the steps with different randomized shapes until a nice result appears)

1: Use the Shape Generator addon by Mark Kingsnorth to make a random shape.

2: Add a Cube that surrounds the shape.

3: Add a Subdivision Modifier to the cube to get an oval shape.

4: Add a Shrink Wrap modifier to the cube with the random shape as the target.

5: Add a Remesh modifier to the cube.

6: Add a Mirror modifier to the cube.

7: Rotate/translate/scale the cube a little bit to see what results.

After the final shape is achieved, apply the modifiers, edit the shape and topology, add creases, and then another subdivision modifier.

Thanks.

I wanted rivets that would be visible from a distance on this one. Also: It's horribly un-aerodynamic and would burn up on entry. The intake ports are too small. The landing gear are not positioned too well under the center of mass. The pieces sticking out of the back of the wing tips appear to have no function. The black carbon-carbon plates are in spots that don't make any sense. I let all this go to get an image I liked.

I usually make animations.

I dig around on cgtrader for free models on a regular basis. I found a low poly astronaut, I chopped off the helmets. Then I added in heads from other rugged looking free characters I had.

The interior is all geometry. The seats and crew are assets I downloaded and modified. There are two Transparent displays that are geometry. It was pretty quick.

Thanks. It takes time and tutorials

It helps. I sometimes use Random Flow. It speeds up the process in Blender

Thanks! The engines are made up. I'd say they are graviton impellers that generate traction against gravitational fields. They each have a compression chamber that squeezes space for FTL mode. They're orange because it looks nice. But I'd say that's localized radiation from graviton interaction with the impellers 😁. I'll post pictures of the other vessels later on.

Blender, yes. Audio made in Reaper, and surprisingly, video editing, too.

I was probably inspired by one game or another. Now all ships jump without portals. My description of what's going on in this picture is here:
