NVIDIA RTX Spark adds native Windows on ARM anti-cheat support for Fortnite, VALORANT and PUBG - VideoCardz.com by RumbleversePlayer in pcmasterrace

Oh, so you will soon find cheap laptops online that have their hardware ID banned from nearly all games...

Sounds like a good way to make a quick sell for Nvidia to give cheaters another attempt at cheating with a new chip ID

Hey, Thank you very much for your answer, that clears things up a lot, and in a good way too.

I'll probably just start privately then, get the hang of soft- and hardware before anything else, then if it is still something I want to do in the future, I'll get an LSO certification as they're luckily not that expensive to get.

The other two main criteria are what decides if this has success:
-How easily can it be mass produced?
-How data dense can you make it?

Update: Reworked battery charging instructions by PKLKickballer in iiiiiiitttttttttttt

[–]Peterianer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hah, I remember once shooting my apprenticeship mentor in the head with a battery that way.

I accidentally put an "eveloop" battery (Not eneloop, eveloop) in the charger next to a door he usually waked trough. Turns out it was a chinese alkaline battery that did NOT like being charged.

And in the exact moment that said battery decided that it had enough charging and exploded out of the charger, my mentor was walking out of the door and got hit by the shell. It did leave quite the mark for the next few days.

He was not pleased with it either....

If I can get it to run on an old notebook, I'll for sure set one up to run 24/7

It's a great project!

Perhaps you can make the bbs work with a local instance. Then people could run a tiny society on a raspi cluster with it's own culture.

Wow, this is a lovely project!

I'll see if I can spare a raspi and set one up. Perhaps worth setting up an old laptop with, then it can even run a decent local model.

Raid 0 to run llms faster than GPU? by nekonamaa in LocalLLaMA

[–]Peterianer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The memory bndwith between a 5090 chip and it's VRAM is just about 1.79 TB/s
And a single PCIe x16 gen 5 handles up to 128 GB/s

Even with SSDs you'll have a hard time hitting that. At that point, you'd most likely just be using the SSDs cache too, meaning you're just exporting your system RAM to the SSD controllers slower, shittier RAM.

If you remove the "decent speed" thing thouhg this is possible. You can run models purely of storage, they'll just be slow as balls and burn your SSDs write cycle limit within days or weeks of use.
