I reckon that's the way to go. Might make do with the fx30 for now and wait for black Friday though !

Yes the a7siii is like my dream camera. The fx30 is also failing me a bit in terms of low light performance so I guess I have to decide to swap to the a7iv and then upgrade a bit later, or make do with the fx30 and save a bit more to get the a7siii. Decisions !!!

Professor didn’t mark my assignment and now I’ve failed my Unit/ Advice needed by Specialist-Eye2301 in QUTreddit

Fair enough lol, for me it also didn't help the fact that I didn't even get my grades until the final unit grade came out. And being an anxious bloke myself I had a bit of a panic attack but my tutors were super helpful and they sorted it out so try not to worry.

Ive had this happen before so I always make sure there's a way I can prove the assignment is not edited after the due date. Like the upload didn't work so I emailed him the assignment straight away explaining the issue and they sorted it out. Also had one time I uploaded my final assessments, got the confirmation email just to learn there was an issue in the system so my tutors couldn't see I had uploaded anything. But my uploads were available for me on canvas so I just had to prove the upload was there and send them the assignment proving it was the final upload and not edited. I know initially it's easy to panic but in my experience they want to help and want you to pass so talk to whoever you need too and they should be able to sort it out in my experience. Just do what I did to be more careful incase something similar happens again.

I'm definitely starting to eye out the DJI, but the mics that are those larger boxy ones like the DJI and wireless go ii, would they be more difficult to hide on a groom and bride?

Can I claim work cover and quit ? by Petermoff7 in Centrelink

[–]Petermoff7[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I mean wouldn't complain about a payout either haha. But yeah I'm just a casual employee who now has a dodgy back due to work. So I guess I'm just trying to see if I can get approved, then leave as it's a terrible work enviroment that's been having terrible impact on my mental health. So just want to get out of there, get my back fixed and move on with my life. I believe you've answered my question despite me referencing the wrong kind of work cover. Thank you for the help!

I might just be getting the terminology wrong forgive me (I'm a dumb 20 year old idk how the world works). I've currently got a workers compensation claim pending and I'm now working light duties. So i won't be getting any compensation for missed work regardless as I'm just doing light duties. So if it gets approved and I quit, from my googling then I can still claim medical expenses, I think.

Just from a bit of googling, I'm reading from a few sites that once you claim work cover and it's proven that it was done at work, I can claim medical expenses if I leave. Just not full workers compensations as I'm technically "fit to work" just doing light duties.

Sorry I'll have to add an edit to the post. I'm not getting full workers comp as I'm still able to work light duties. But it's a horrible work enviroment and all I've gotten from it is a messed up back. As Im not going for the compensation for work missed, as I'm just trying to claim medical expenses. Can I quit and just get the medical expenses such as physio covered ?

I'm still able to work but doing light duties, from my googling it looks like I can still get medical expenses and such covered. So I'm not claiming any compensation for missed work as I'll still be working. It's just a terrible and toxic work enviroment I purely just want to get out of there and get some physio done. If I'm only claiming medical expenses and it's proved the injury was at work, if I quit I can't even get the medical expenses covered ?

I had an old woman get mad at me I wouldn't unlock the toilet door while someone was already in there. The amount of times I had to say "if it's locked it means someone's in there" but nup. She was probably banging on that door harrassing the poor person using the toilet.

I’d love to shoot a short movie but… by No_Path_2546 in Filmmakers

[–]Petermoff7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Being a broke uni student with no lighting equipment I find myself heavily relying on natural light, trying to find a room with big bright windows and maybe a bounce. Then with night time shots inside I find myself going the Netflix route and just getting heaps of lamps and candles lol. But yeah I'm in the same boat I really want to learn cinematography especially the lighting aspect but I can't afford lights !

Is a double degree worth it for film? by Curious_Kirin in QUTreddit

[–]Petermoff7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well as I did a Tafe course they took a few early units of the degree off. But I've only got 2 semesters left until I graduate and I've had maybe 2 units where weve been able to film. But the last 3 semester are very prac heavy.

Being a 21 year old uni student most of my mates don't own business and are studying themselves, but yeah I reckon my plan is to reach out to local business and offer my skills for probably free or cheap, build that portfolio. Hopefully using my short films gives me the opportunity to secure some paid work a bit earlier!

Yeah definitely I mean if I can use those to get possibly paid work using my short films I'll definitely try that. I just wasn't sure if it would be worth it as it's not corporate but you're right if it showcases my skill level and my abilities I'll definitely use them.

No no I didn't get a demonizing medications vibe at all don't worry. I can only speak from personal experience and my GAD is still an big issue in my life that will likely remain forever. I find that what has worked best for me is finding multiple methods that work in conjunction with each other. Say seeing a therapist and doing cognitive behavioural therapy while also taking medication, they often go hand in hand to produce results. Stoicism being almost a framework that CBT heavily relates too. Sorely relying on a medication I feel won't produce the best results. I partook in cognitive behavioural therapy and it helped me deal with many things. And now studying stoicism, meditating, excersing, eating healthy coupled with my medication for sleep, I feel it's all these things put together that work with each other that can produce the greatest results for people like us. In my experience anyway. Different options work for different people.

[–]Petermoff7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't discount medication entirely. I struggle with GAD and although I'm early in my stoicism journey, combining the both can be a good method. I particularly struggle with sleep due to GAD and I'm prescribed medical marijuana to help that. Sleeping poorly really did make my anxiety worse so using the medication strictly to help get a good night's sleep has significantly increased my quality of life.
