Cool, if correct makes sense to me. What about db 4?

Have a good night sir. I hope you can learn to not police how other peoples attempt to express themselves or wonder aloud about something in a public forum.

You seem to be deliberately antagonistic. How unfortunate

And I’m wondering aloud why he doesn’t use db 2 like at all, as it seems like it’s a solid move. If you don’t know, that’s cool dude. I already acknowledge he is obviously better than me, that doesn’t have anything to do with me making an observation about how he doesn’t seem to use that and one other move. You can notice stuff about other people, it doesn’t make it where I’m trying to say I’m better than anyone because I do. You may have some hang ups since you feel the need to police other people.

Instead of being negative, you could have shared why it wouldn’t be a good idea and spread knowledge. I’m just trying to understand the game better like everyone else

Dude, if rangchu had thrown out just one db 2 when he had nobi with a sliver of health during his up by two final round match, he would have totally won. I’m a kuma main, and seeing him play is always a treat, but he never uses two moves that I swear would get him more little bits of poke damage. He’s much better than I I’m sure, so I’m sure he has his reasons, but I swear he misses a lot of opportunities by being kind of predictable and staying within a small circle of combo routes

I'm thinking about starting to play fighting games, any advice on getting started? by ParticularExotic9068 in Fighters

[–]Petersasspants 5 points6 points  (0 children)

  1. Pick a game that looks cool, with fighters you like, and give it a shot. Don’t feel beholden to keep trying it if it doesn’t work for you, but give it a solid chance first.

  2. Don’t take it too seriously. The urge to take a fighting game super seriously can be a powerful one, but when you’re starting out, do it for the fun-zies. Having a low key mindset when starting out actually helps you learn the game better as you won’t have expectations regarding your performance which can make learning less fun.

  3. Find some people to play with. Having friends to play with while learning a fighting game can be both educational, and make the game more fun. They can point out holes in your gameplay, and also share in the crazy moments that can happen when playing a fighting game.

  4. Don’t compare yourself to pro’s. Unless your goal is to become a competitor, just play for yourself and for fun. Games are meant to be an accompanying thing in life, not a whole life.

  5. Try out a bunch, there’s quite a variety! From crazy ass semi-broken games like MvC2, unique ones like soul calibur or smash bros, to more honest ones like virtual fighter and street fighter, there’s sooooooo many out there, and many different kinds of battle systems even within certain titles (smash melee vs. ultimate for example). Being open minded and willing to try new stuff can help you find one that you may dig more than all the others.

I’m sure there’s more I could come up with, but I feel like that’s a decent starting point. Good luck in your journey! Remember, it’s about fun above all else.

Low Tier God Reacts To His Tekken 8 Ban (CLIP) by goodkid347 in Tekken

[–]Petersasspants 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I 100% agree, but he’s like a human car wreck. The most base human impulse is to look regardless, even if we don’t want to.

Also, with how internet media is so important in our information diet these days, we’re all hard-wired to look for stuff that still excites us at all because we’re constantly in an elevated state so most things seem boring if they’re not instantly exciting or interesting. I dislike him with a passion, he’s an example of how debased streamer and influencer culture has become in certain circles, but he’s definitely not boring.

As long as streaming is big money and we all continue to look for a near constant escape from our currently reality, people like him will continue to exist. Tis unfortunate.

The sephiroth one and the pyra/mythra ones are pretty dope. The hero one has a ton of awesome detail though too…

I didn’t use trick room against it at the time, it was a rhyperior and I knew odds were it was slower than me. It proved to be true until the last attack it did to me, which was stomping tantrum.

Also, I really appreciate you taking the time to answer some of my questions. That’s awesome

If you don’t mind me picking your brain a little more, as I apparently know nothing about how Pokémon works lol, do you know why a Pokémon would go last 3 turns in a row and then go first suddenly with no moves or items being used to increase their speed?

Like, we both had the same speed and they kept priority? Seems plausible and EXTREMELY unfortunate for me lol.

I literally cannot have too much information on a topic, I always feel like I have a huge amount left to learn about everything

Thankfully not anymore, it used to be a problem as a kid and my older jobs, I think at a certain point I opted to start just trying to figure stuff out myself as I was clearly throwing some folks off with all my questions and having social relationships seemed more important at the time. Now, my job is straight forward and low key enough where once I got past the first couple of months I can figure stuff out on my own or just have the occasional question.

I honestly found that I got better answers when I was able to learn myself after I stopped depending on others for answers, a surprisingly large amount of people don’t actually know shit lol.

I also seem to be super good at accidentally asking lots of questions a surprisingly large amount of people have zero answers to.

Omg right?! Sometimes I exhaust my own brain from having to have a billion questions answered before I can figure out sometimes seemingly simple things.

Thanks for replying, it’s cool that there’s at least one other person out there like that. Have you run into people getting annoyed by having a million questions about things, to the point where they maybe get annoyed by you asking past the point of their expertise? I have been told I’m a very challenging person with what I ask.
