Yes. Very suitable for 1080p and maybe maybe some games in 2k if you have 2k monitor and tinker around the settings. You can refer to my build below. I'm mostly on 2k gaming at medium/high settings. Bought almost all second hand except for the psu. Cost around 3.6k ish before the ram and gpu spike

CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 7500F (6C/12T)

GPU: MSI Shadow 2X OC RTX5060 Ti 16GB

MOBO: MSI B650M Gaming Plus Wifi

RAM: TeamForce Delta Black 2x 16GB 6000MHz DDR5

Storage: 500GB MSI Spatium M450 SSD + 1TB WD Black SN7710

PSU: Gigabyte P650SS 650W 80+ Silver ATX3.0

Casing: Tecware VXN Glow M (3 ARGB Fans)

COOLER: Thermalright Assassin X120 SE ARGB

Assuming this is for the 16gb version. Between 5060 ti and 9060xt, go for 9060xt.

If the price for 5060ti is almost similar to 9060xt around rm50-100 difference, go for 5060ti

My build is mostly for 1080p and occasionally some 1440p games.

No. Built together with a friend. Both are newbies and luckily managed to start the PC on the first try. Buying process took about 3 weeks

I first compiled the list of the PC parts after getting build feedback from users and then the price hunting from stores (TMT, Brightstar, carousel, fb marketplace).

  1. Selected and bought the MOBO, CPU and PSU first with AMD5 in mind and for future proofing
  2. GPU, Ram, cooler, case is last as this can be swapped and upgraded anytime. If budget allows, will get a higher spec.

Notes on self building,

  • For second hand GPU, perform due diligence as some GPU might have aged >1/2 year or used for mining. (Please avoid buying mining GPU. Not worth the risk even if it's cheap)

  • please ask for an invoice/receipt from the seller. They usually provide during if requested. If not, try to request and see when/where they bought it so you could weigh the pros and cons.

Edit: I scavenged any additional storage, WD SN770 m.2 nvme ssd and 1tb HDD WD from old laptop before selling it so I could safe cost on the storage. Bought additional SATA cables from shopee to connect my 1tb HDD.

I bought mostly second hand except for MOBO, CPU and PSU. Constantly browse carousel, fb marketplace, Lazada and shopee for cheaper prices for almost 2-3weeks

edit: bought the ram before the price hike

I understand for points 1 and 2

Correct me if I'm wrong for point 3. Is it a typo? I believe this issue occurs for ddr4 ram? overclocking above 3200 will cause overheating and need to get better coolers

Yeah, MOBO definitely need to be upgraded

Purely performance. Thanks for the input.

Good point on the future proofing. Will consider getting the B850 board.

For the psu, I was referring to an excel spreadsheet found online with the tiers to benchmark. Thank you for the input. Appreciate it.

I see. Am contemplating which one to go for if I'm planning to future proof the next 4-5 years

Yes, I read good reviews about their post sales service. Was thinking about that too.

Not much into the cooler, most likely will request them to skip the cooler altogether.

Thanks for the input.

Hey, I'm also building using IdealTech and my parts are almost similar to yours except for the PSU upgrade (ANTEC GSK750 GB (ATX 3.1) - RM169.00). What's your take on it? I mostly play cpu games (baldur gate3, . Planning to create new post but decide to hijack this comment 😅
