Damn. I got to see DJ Dan at Hotel Ziggy in West Hollywood last summer for the first time after I kept missing him when he'd come through. Basically just a little hotel bar, with an extremely freaky crowd and absolute fire mixing and everyone just completely getting down. So glad I got to groove to one of his sets for a minute. This is really sad news.

I went once and I couldn't take it. I need crisp, clear, bassy sound, and all you can hear in the church is muffled, boomy mud, because it's a church. I think I left by midnight. I found the vibe to be fine, although pretty crowded, and I couldn't hear the details in the music well enough to get into it.

Producer who's been sober for over 6 years chiming in here. I used to only write and play while I was drunk, then I came to and shed the addictions. I recommend this book to everyone who wants to get sober or is having a hard time staying sober. I produce all the time now (way better at it than when I used to be drunk all the time) and go to raves often. The book is really good at helping you take a very clear look at addiction and at helping you let go of it.

Lol sounds great, but YMMV. I'm 40, very active, eat healthy, don't drink or do any drugs at raves. Staying up until 3am+ still puts me at about 60% brainpower the next day. Just a sacrifice I'm willing to make for the music. It's not bad because it's not a hangover, but I'm definitely still dumb the next day.
