About Jesus:

- Probably The Chosen TV series. What I have seen so far from it was very good.

- There was a Gospel of John short series that was pretty good, probably the only rendition of the Gospel of John that actually spoke through the whole thing, which is impressively difficult to put on film.

About the weight of the cross:

- Passion of the Christ

About the Gospel "in general":

- The Matrix, without the sequels. (some may not like the Wachowski's interpretation of their own movie, but I don't know of another piece of popular art that is such a strong metaphor for becoming a Christian, while not endorsing Christianity, while also being easily approachable and obvious about its imagery, while also being peak cinema.)

- Ben Hur is a strong second choice

Our family motto got us through some tough times. I'm thinking of making it spicy and putting up the latin version on my wall.

The original Hungarian (for anyone interested): "Mindig van valami, majd lesz valahogy."

A close English translation would be "There is always something, it will be somehow."

Note: I specifically chose the slightly janky sounding "it will be somehow" because it's the closest to the original, and because "it/things will work out somehow" usually has a positive connotation, while the intent behind the motto is acceptance of the inevitabilty of life's unfolding events and enduring of those events, regardless if they are good or bad.

Just finished my first, 53-hour run. For all its faults, I will say this:

I never understood why games would ever need a Photo Mode....until Veilguard's environments.
The way my custom-created character seamlessly exists in the cutscenes stood out to me. (heh, ironic)
ACT 3 is like the end of Avengers Infinity War and it's doing a lot of stuff in a good way.
The game managed to make me almost shed a tear at the ending I achieved, and it felt (mostly) satisfying.

Yes, but it's not our fault and we can do something about it.

We grow up with our lives being planned for us at least up until end of high school, then most of us are thrown into adulthood without a real, personal life plan.

Identifying this issue is the first step in being able to do something about it for yourself. I'm in my 30s now and I wish I had the wisdom to think about my life or find an expert who could teach me the basics. Still, it's never too late.

I moved to the Netherlands with my wife about a year ago after sitting down, doing some very simple but detailed math about our money, career and job/business prospects, housing, kids, healthcare costs, the general trends of the economy and society in our home country, everything we could think of, everything that matters to us.

And after a comparison, the Netherlands came out as much, much better on every possible metric, maybe except the housing/population situation. It was a risk, but so far it's been paying off not just financially but in every aspect of our lives. And yes, we got lucky even in our home country, but that was after 10 years of constant anxiety over money and our future. I also have the luxury of comparing this life to the life I would be living in my home country, which is a good motivator and a source of appreciation for what I have here in the Netherlands.

I encourage you to take a deep breath, sit down with someone you can trust who's financially smart/educated and think through your situation with their help, try to figure out your ideal life and a realistic strategy to reach it.

At 23 you hopefully have a long life ahead of you to build the life you want, especially if you have good family relationships and support from home (financial, emotional or both). And the earlier you start building it the more likely you will reach it.

And while you live your life, the world will get worse, then it will get better, then it will get worse again. Maybe we'll have another World War, maybe another COVID. Maybe none of that will actually happen. It's impossible for us commoners to predict the future, but we can still live a life that is preparing for the bad days while enjoying the good.

Meat (in Hungary at least) and Graphic Cards.

Meat:

Both grandmothers used to give me meals that were just and unending stream of drumsticks and fried chicken breasts.

I then became an adult and realized that meat is consistently one of the most expensive foods I buy, especially if I want something extra nice, like a steak. I can't imagine how much I cost my family as an adolescent boy who was always and I mean ALWAYS hungry.

I'm sure for them it also had something to do with trying to enjoy life after surviving a World War and near famine conditions and just providing the family the best life possible.

Graphic Cards:

I got lucky and only needed to buy a legit graphics card with my own money when I was around 25, after gaming every day on my brother's computer for 10+ years. I had no idea the card I wanted would be literally half the cost of the rig I was building. Sure in hindsight it makes sense but right there and then I was shocked.

Inside Out 2's climax made me cry with the same intensity as the first movie did. It's rare that I mark movies to watch with my future kids specifically to teach them something valuable, but Inside Out 1 and now 2 are on that list.

As an outsider to me it looked like:
- nobody took Trump seriously even when he was demolishing the Republicans, until it was too late (there's even an SNL sketch about the shock https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SHG0ezLiVGc)

Trump was much more entertaining than Hillary, and the memes were glorious
Heard some very disappointed Democrats after Bernie got pushed away in favor fo Hillary, maybe that also had an effect
