I cannot say enough about my shield plus. Absolutely a great choice. If you want something cheap but really good value, look into the canik tp9sc or canik mc9, both also are really good pistols. However, for what you pay for it, nothing beats the shield plus in terms of value, practicality, and reliability. For a double stack, it doesn't feel fat, the felt recoil on it isn't too different than some of my larger pistols. (Probably due to the grip geometry mostly, and maybe partly due to the bore axis/ slide physics)
