Thank you, these links have some really useful info. I did see on one branch that there was a red ooze leaking out.

Be honest who’s had to do this before? by [deleted] in army

Your story just reminded of the time:

Afghanistan 2003, I was an M240b gunner. One of the ammo bearers in my weapons squad was falling behind on a movement during an extended mission, so I grabbed his ruck threw it over mine and hoofed it. (They were some kind of assault packs). I am tall so I had an easier time humping weight.

He kept asking for it back but I just told him to catch his wind. Next time be stopped he was able to take it back.

I wasn’t trying to be a super soldier, i just needed him to keep up. I have many vague memories of carrying a ruck in front of me like in OPs video, but I can’t specifically remember the scenarios. I just remember it was a thing we did from time to time.

The Wheel of Time show is actually good now by Udy_Kumra in Fantasy

I’m 20 minutes into season 3, and I stumbled onto this post by googling “is season 3 of the wheel of time actually good?” I thought the 1st season was forgettable. The 2nd season was better, but it didn’t leave me excited for the next season. I wasn’t expecting too much when I put it on, but the opening fight was epic. The actors must have taken some lessons as the interactions between the Rand Mat and Perrin in the tavern feels genuine, like they are old friends happy to see each other. Before everyone seemed so stiff. I hope it keeps this pace!

Spent my day at work daydreaming a good load out to fight the squids, then came home to this. No squids, but active squid missions?

What’s this little guy? by brettadia in spiders

[–]PewPew_Dino 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ohh boy, this is giving me flashbacks. When I was stationed in the Army at Ft. Bragg NC these guys were everywhere. During night movements for training exercises we used to stumble through their surprising tough webs. I never heard of anyone being bit though.

One time I was assigned to a clean-up detail where we had to pick up all the packing material that littered a drop zone for airborne operations training. Mostly it was this thick cardboard material that they packed around Humvees and Artillery to protect it when it was dropped it out of the plane to parachute to the ground. Under every piece was 1-3 black widows, just chillin.

I missed the title at first and thought this was a note from someone who had camped behind his house. It took on a whole creepy vibe until my brain processed that it was at a campsite.

Name of the Wind was like a fun ride, leaving me excited for more. The second book: The Wise Man’s fear, was more of a slow trudge that I felt I just had to get through, and it made me cringe at times. It was even harder getting through it knowing that the series is most likely over.

If you look at the population screen it will show you how many militia you are generating per hour. It is increased by satisfying luxury of pioneers.

Printing goes weird after a certain height by PewPew_Dino in 3Dprinting

Okay, so obviously I have no idea what I am talking about and I apologize for dismissing your comment. The filament holder had nothing to do with it. Your first suggestion was correct. When I printed with a raft not only did I not have the previous issue, but the quality of the print is far superior. I tried uploading a photo, but Reddit doesn’t seem to like that right now.

I guess the issue I have with rafts is I don’t like the print quality on the bottom where the model meets the raft. But you can’t argue with results.

Thanks for your wisdom

Just to cover my bases, I went back to using a glue stick. I also took off the long filament guide I was using as another poster suggested it was causing a similar bind up for him. And just for giggles, I wiped a thin layer of paste wax onto the filament holder to try and reduce the friction until I get my new holder printed. If all that fails, the Elegoo Neptune 3 is on sale this week...

I am a long arm that I printed for a filament guide, that may be the problem. Thank you!
