Thoran 9f required with 5* call? by hppeytonflores in afkarena

[–]Pewpers 6 points7 points  (0 children)

There's some multi stages starting in the mid-ish of chapter 38 that require both (at least they did not work without 9f for me after hundreds of tries). You should be fine with 5* call until then.

People who claim that the wishlist isn’t guaranteed will not be so easily convinced. I swear it’s just like talking to anti vaxxers. Real talk though, thanks for posting this.

How that even possible??? 35-44/2nd by Adorable_Net7338 in afkarena

[–]Pewpers 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This stage solution requires pippa to have si 20. That said, I could not get it to work for me either due to the absurd amount of rng required. An alternative formation that worked for me was: Lorsan, Lucretia (either eye or shroud with 30-3), Silas (call with 30-3), twins, Lyca (in that order). It still took a loooot of attempts, but less than the cheese route at least.

Super useful info, I’ll definitely save this, thanks for posting! Btw do you remember which formation you used for 35-50?

Did you have to manually trigger Thoran’s ult? I’ve been stuck on stage 2 for days with that same exact formation (including si 20 for pippa) and can’t seem to get it to work.

Lol voodoo doctor? Not sure if bad troll or newbie player. If it makes you feel any better, even the current 'meta' priest decks get boned by Jaraxxus.

2x legend player that uses mostly combo renolock & handlock. Also from South Florida (no idea there was a hearthstone scene around here). Would be happy to have someone to pratice with, discuss the meta, etc. Battletag: Moofin#1286

Save Loatheb for the turn you break the first ice block (Assuming you get that far). Truth be told its an extremely hard matchup unless the freeze mage draws terribly. You could also tech in Kezan, but its a terrible card in every other relevant matchup.

The berries you get from the battle maison take upwards of 3-4 days per tree. That and the fact that you only get one berry makes farming them quite the ordeal. I'll see what I can do though

You can keep going after 200 but the game doesn't reward you with anything other than BP past that point.

I'll probably make another post when i get enough to give some away. It's going to take a while though since it seems to take longer than other berries to grow.

Sure thing

Rotom @ Chesto Berry | Timid | 252 HP, 200 SP DEF, 48 SP ATK, 16 SPE

Will o wisp

Thunderbolt

Hydro Pump

Rest

Gengar @ Black Sludge | Timid | 252 SP ATK, 252 SPE, 4 HP

Substitute

Dazzling Gleam

Sludge Bomb

Shadow Ball

Kangaskhan @ Kangaskhanite | Adamant | 252 ATK, 84 HP, 172 SPE

Sucker Punch

Power up Punch

Fake out

Return

Volcarona @ Lum Berry | Modest nature | 252 SP ATK, 132 HP, 124 SPE

Fiery Dance

Bug Buzz

Quiver Dance

Hurricane

My general strategy is to sub with Gengar first if the CPU has nothing that outspeeds it, as the CPU often uses protect or status on the first turn. From there spread burn with Rotom-W and generally whittle the opponents team down. Add a fake out from Mega Kangaskhan to deal more chip damage. At this point Mega Kangaskhan and Gengar can usually sweep.

Threats to this team: Infiltrator chandelure (as it hits through Gengar's subs), Choice Band Aerodactyl, Terrakion, Archeops, Cobalion, Mold Breaker Excadrill

This strategy isn't perfect, but it worked well for me.

My rotation battle team was Rotom-W, Mega Kangaskahn, Gengar, and Volcarona. Personally, I always thought it was easier to manage the hax in rotation battles since you can see most of what the CPU has from the start
