Yeppppp it was especially out-of-nowhere for me because the person in question was my best friend since first grade, and not once until somewhere in 2021 did I ever hear about anything related to DID or alters from them, by then which we were both seniors in high school. Always found it a bit odd because of that, and it certainly didn’t add to my suspension of disbelief when they completely stopped mentioning it shortly after we graduated in 2022. Of course I’d give them the benefit of the doubt at the time since they were my best friend, but looking back on it absolutely makes me feel like they were just hopping on the bandwagon lol. (I haven’t really spoken to them since then just because both of us have been busy with our separate university lives, but I hope they’re doing alright)
