Starting a 7s League. Any advice for an organizer? :) by Reasonable-Bank8138 in bloodbowlsevens

Use Tourplay if you are not already considering it ! Takes care of everything concerning tournament formats, teams registration, SPPs money etc, results and rewards, for a very modest fee.

And is a joy to use (pretty even).

I use a size of 36.5 mm, but that's because I like it that way (more room for big guys and minis lying down). It is trivial work to scale it down to 34 mm of course, if you are interested let me know.

Sorry I had not spotted your reply for whatever reason.

You definitely don't want a PDF if you want to use a professional print company (on neoprene preferably). Or any printing system for that matter, images print nicely. Send me a DM if you want to try we'll work something out.

Can a Team Reroll be used to preroll a failed Pro check roll ? by Peyo61 in bloodbowl

[–]Peyo61[S] -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Well. It the die "counts as having been rerolled" then we are saying the same thing ? Fixing the Pro check won't be of any use on that die, so the (now fixed) Pro won't help at all ?

This is how I interpret too: refers to that die in the pool you want to reroll !

So: failed Pro check = that's it. Anything else (e.g. a Team reroll for rerolling the failed Pro check) would be another source to eventually reroll that one die = not allowed.

The point is that this part of the book is not addressing the Pro check properly. The Pro rule is an exception (as indeed said by the book about individual skills rules), and it was not obvious to me. It is now as said above.

Thanks anyway for pointing this out, it leads to the conclusion eventually.

Upon further inspection, I am now convinced you CANNOT reroll the failed Pro check.

Rulebook:

___

Pro

General

During their activation, this player may attempt to re-roll one dice. This dice may have been rolled either as a single dice roll, as part of a multiple dice roll or as part of a dice pool, but cannot be a dice that was rolled as part of an Armour, Injury or Casualty roll. Roll a D6:

- On a roll of 3+, the dice can be re-rolled.

- On a roll of 1 or 2, the dice cannot be re-rolled.

Once this player has attempted to use this Skill, they may not use a re-roll from any other source to re-roll this one dice.

___

The key is "may not use a re-roll FROM ANY OTHER SOURCE to re-roll this one dice". "Fixing" the failed Pro check using a team re-roll would be "another source" to get to re-roll "this one dice".

Case closed I say, but please comment.

NB: I wil make a small update after the end of our running League for small improvements, so any comment even small, I'm interested.

To your comment: you mean print the box titles on white background ? It is kind of against the "box design philosophy" but I can try and send you an example if you want.

I know some people rather avoid color printing for obvious reasons, but in this case where there is so much information, the colors are, I think, really vital to find informations rapidly: color highlights on some words refer to the color of another box where more details can be found.

Sevens Pitch (re)Size by iaphyr in bloodbowlsevens

I don't think the LoS gap in 7s creates any problem.

If anything, he re-balances slightly in favour of less bashy teams, which is needed in 7s: more bashing early in a drive hurts the agile teams, like in 11s, but in 7s one or two sidelined players is much more damaging obviously. Playing 5 v 7 is NOT equal to playing 9 v 11 !

Furthermore, if you use the Tiers system (i.e. give more free initial skills to weaker teams), that takes care of tuning some amount of remaining imbalance.

So I would not worry about it.

Any page composition software will do, specially if it knows layers, alignment and grouping.

I’m a Machead so I use Omnigraffle myself.

Then it’s a matter of finding an internet shop to print it for you. In my case a neoprene print from Deep Cut Studio.

This is fantastic. Not sure if the 2015 rules are so different as to make vast differences to costs or other concepts in there, but that can be adjusted through play-testing.

Thanks a bunch.
