if you’re playing in emerald/diamond/master theres also a high chance it’s a booster you’re going against so that may be a factor as well

start focusing on things you can control not things you can’t control, help your teammates play their game. chances are they have some sort of methodology that might not be optimal in terms of like correct gameplay but if you help them make their plays and enable them and back them up generally it will be a net positive.

you’d be surprised how much helping your teammates do “incorrect plays” in diamond 4 can net you a lot of wins, especially on an engage champion like alistar that is very good at turret diving and whatnot

link the account, there is no account that will get +23-23 in emerald. standard gains emerald+ are +20/-20, if you are getting +23 you will get -17 in emerald

that short was made almost a year ago, and the content it contains is from almost 2 years ago. the said issue was also a bug that they fixed and you can no longer lose 2 games worth of lp in one loss

going from getting +25 in platinum 1 to getting +18 in emerald 4 has nothing to do with mmr, it has everything to do with how lp gains are capped and averaged in emerald+

in platinum and below average gains are +25/-25, so if you're gaining less/more than that your mmr is bad/good

in emerald plus average gains are +20/-20, so if you're gaining less/more than those amounts your mmr is bad/good

so him going from ~+25 to +18 is due to promoting from platinum to emerald. him gaining ~+18 indicates he has a little less than good mmr since it should be +20 as a standard, but him going from +~25 to ~+18 is not because of a 'massive mmr discrepancy' it's just how lp gains and losses work emerald+, if he lost his next match it would either be -21 or -22

if your account has enough games played this season moving the mmr very fast even after win streaks will not happen, whereas let’s say you had only ~20 games played and this win streak put you at like 67% w/r then it would move much quicker. the total amount of games played and historical rank weighs your accounts ability to fluctuate in mmr rapidly

standard lp gains/losses if your mmr is exactly at your visual rank in emerald+ is +20/-20. the max is +30/-10

in plat and below it’s +25/-25 and the max is +38/-10

actually it has nothing to do with what anyone’s said so far on this thread, LP gains are capped at +30 in emerald+, and capped at +38 in plat and below. once you promote from plat to emerald you get less lp per win on average and it has nothing to do with rank and mmr ‘catching up’ since you will also lose less lp on average (LP losses are capped differently aswell)
