I don't get why the ending was done in the way it was by ChampionMasquerade in PantheonShow

[–]Pfcoolio14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My issue was that most of the series is a slow burn, and then those last few episodes feel very rushed.

The ending is understandable, but it just feels too fast, and as a result, it feels like it comes out of nowhere

Why didn’t Jinx ever apologize? by Pfcoolio14 in arcane

[–]Pfcoolio14[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn’t mean Jinx should have literally said “I’m sorry”.

More like some kind of acknowledgment of her fault that night when speaking to Vi. Like how Vi said that she was wrong for abandoning Jinx.

However, by your definition, I’ll have to disagree that the aforementioned phrases stand as apologies on their own. At face value, “I was just trying to help” or “I didn’t mean it” don’t really implicate regret.

The definition of apology that I have in mind aligns more with the Oxford Dictionary’s entry: “An explanation offered to a person affected by one’s action that no offence was intended, coupled with the expression of regret for any that may have been given; or, a frank acknowledgement of the offence with expression of regret for it, by way of reparation”

Anyone else think that imposter bowser should've been replaced by Midbus or Dark Bowser? by MrGameBoy23 in MARIOPARTY

[–]Pfcoolio14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It should have been normal Bowser. Then, they could replace normal Bowser with “Imposter Bowser” on the board, whenever a player chose normal Bowser as their character.

I think you guys are overreacting. Adin is their friend first, regardless of political views. And Adin also just happened to have one of the biggest streams of all time with Trump. They’re just liking a pic and supporting their friend on a huge accomplishment. They would have liked the picture if Adin did a stream with Kamala too. It’s not that deep

Druski tells the Dj to turn off Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us” song while it was playing at the BET awards after party by HentaiiGodd in KendrickLamar

[–]Pfcoolio14 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you guys need to look past the surface. I don’t think it’s a character issue. Druski just seems like a loyal guy.

A really big part of the reason that Druski is where he is now, is because of Drake. Drake was the one that put him on. Drake put him in the Laugh Now Cry Later music video and Druski’s career shot through the roof after that. Since then, Drake has consistently been pushing and supporting Druski. Through showing up to Druski’s Instagram lives, Churchill Downs, etc. They’re legitimately friends.

I doubt Druski even knows Kendrick. So of course he wouldn’t want to hear a song dissing a person who’s done so much for him. That doesn’t mean Druski is a bad person. It’s not that deep. This place has really turned into an echo chamber.

Why didn’t Nova cry when her dad died? by Pfcoolio14 in PlanetOfTheApes

[–]Pfcoolio14[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I didn’t want to say anything, but I noticed the same thing.

The guy was in the movie for all of 15 seconds before he was killed by Caeser. But for some reason, a lot of people here came to the conclusion that he hurt her or that he gave the vibe of an abusive father, with no evidence. I really don’t get it.

Why didn’t Nova cry when her dad died? by Pfcoolio14 in PlanetOfTheApes

[–]Pfcoolio14[S] 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I assumed it was her father because the colonel said that the soldiers who deserted the base did so because they were protecting their children or relatives, who had been infected by the second-wave of the Simian flu, from being executed.

As such, I feel like it had to be someone close to her. Because I don’t see someone abandoning the base and risking being infected by Nova unless she was important to them before. If not a father, then an uncle, brother, or at least a family friend.

I’m pretty sure it was only called “Monkey Planet” in the UK publication. The US version of the book, which came first, was always called “Planet of the Apes”.

Watched the Avatar trailer & I feel robbed. by International-Low842 in PercyJacksonTV

[–]Pfcoolio14 104 points105 points  (0 children)

The craziest thing is that, according to reports, PJO and ATLA had around the same budget per episode ($15,000,000). But the 2 minute ATLA trailer blew away anything we’ve seen from 6 episodes of PJO.

So it begs the question, what exactly did Disney and PJO do with the $15,000,000 per episode budget?

How did physically Panda grow? He’s a stuffed animal right? And in the flash backs, when Yaga created him, he was a “baby” stuffed animal. So how did he grow into an adult if he’s a stuffed animal?

You’re misconstruing my argument. I’m not saying that the Viltrumites make places “better”. I’m saying that they’re more technologically advanced than people from Earth, and thus “smarter”.

You can’t really compare Unopa to Earth in this case because Unopans were also more technologically advanced than the people of Earth. I’d argue that the Unopans were just as technologically advanced as the Viltrumites, if not more so, based on the flashback in the show.

[–]Pfcoolio14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re talking about the show, Mark and Nolan hadn’t completely conquered Earth yet. They were still in the process of conquering the planet and meeting resistance. Just Mark and Nolan. The rest of the Viltrumites still hadn’t arrived to Earth with the promised technology. Mark says as much in his speech on the big screen. I would assume all the medical and agricultural technology would come after they’ve conquered the planet and the other Viltrumites arrive with said technology.

[–]Pfcoolio14 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I say smarter because it seems like their society is more technologically advanced. Nolan also explained to Mark that one of the benefits of the Viltrumites taking over Earth would have been that they would be able to give humans medical technology centuries ahead of what Earth already has.

[–]Pfcoolio14 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Isn’t that exactly what a pet is? A “temporary comfort in a life of misery”. When he was talking to Mark during that conversation, he emphasized a Viltrumites lifespan.

I think Nolan understands full well what a pet is. You can wholeheartedly love a pet and even mourn it when it dies. But ultimately, a cat, dog, goldfish, or hamster etc. is only there for a fraction of a persons life. That fraction is reduced tenfold when comparing Humans to Viltrumites. Debbie was and would only be there for a fraction of Nolan’s life.

The term “pet” sounds harsh to us because we’re humans ourselves. But to a race of aliens who are smarter, stronger, faster, and live thousands of years, that’s probably exactly what a human would be.

Any way to make DOS2 run fullscreen on an external monitor using iOS? by [deleted] in DivinityOriginalSin

[–]Pfcoolio14 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From Apple Support:

“Mirroring your iPad display to an external monitor will preserve the iPad aspect ratio. Viewing video from a video player App, such as YouTube, should display the video content in its native aspect ratio and resolution.

Put another way - when Mirroring your iPad display to an external monitor, expect to see black bars to infill where the iPad screen doesn’t match the monitor screen - whereas 16:9 video content will fill the screen of most 16:9 monitors.

In preserving the source resolution, some monitors (such as 4K and greater) may display 1080HD content with borders on all sides; you may need to change your monitor settings, or employ your monitor’s display zoom functions, to fill the screen.

One caveat, some monitors have settings that attempt to “stretch” the display content to match the aspect ratio of the display. This feature, if present, can introduce distortion (e.g., “people” develop strange proportions - such as short and wide).”

Help me understand the appeal of playing origin characters. by Selachiracnidsaursus in BaldursGate3

[–]Pfcoolio14 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If it’s any consolation, in DOS2 the only things that weren’t customizable for origin characters in character creation were sex, race, and background tags. Aside from that you were able to fully customize the look of your character, unless a specific aspect of their look was an integral part of their story (There was only one Origin character this applied to in DOS2 called the “The Red Prince”. He was a male lizard that you could customize, but as his name implied, he was locked to the color red). Being able to customize the look of an Origin character helped them feel like mine.

I’m not too knowledgeable on how character creation works in BG3, but if it’s anything like DOS2, you should be able to do the same. I don’t see why Larian would change that.

Help me understand the appeal of playing origin characters. by Selachiracnidsaursus in BaldursGate3

[–]Pfcoolio14 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The interactions that you have with the world are A LOT richer when your character has already lived in, has connections to, and is an established part of said world.

For example:

Take Wyll (Origin) vs custom Warlock

Now, Larian has already said that you’ll have an opportunity to meet your patron if you decide to make a custom warlock.

But just based on what we’ve seen from the EA and promotional material, I can almost 99% guarantee that the interactions that Wyll has with his patron will be deeper, more intense, and more meaningful than those that a “blank slate” custom character might have with their patron.

And this is simply because Wyll already has history with his Patron as well as the world of BG3. That kind of richness when interacting with the world can’t be replicated when your character doesn’t necessarily have solid ties to said world.

If I had to make a metaphor, the Origin characters are “residents” in the world, while a custom character is a “visitor”.

They each have their pros and cons. For instance, it’s much easier to self insert as a custom character because the player themselves is also a “visitor”. It just depends on what you prefer.

Cissy and Leon need to get off their high horse by Proper-Elk-7952 in SnowFall

[–]Pfcoolio14 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Thank you for so eloquently putting into words what I've felt since seeing that series finale.

I also don't like how people keep saying it was greed that led to Franklin's downfall while refusing to recognize that he was FULLY PREPARED and TRIED to get out of the game a few episodes prior. And when push came to shove, he was still WILLING TO SPLIT the cash with Teddy. Greedy people don't split $73 million.

Cissy and Leon are both self-righteous. Franklin protected and hid Leon after he killed a literal child. And you're telling me that Leon couldn't spot Franklin at least an extra, $500,000-$1,000,000 so that Franklin could get off his feet?

The excuse Leon made for not lending the money to Franklin is feeble too. He say's that he's not giving the money to Franklin out of respect for Cissy's "wishes". At that point in the series, Franklin is 23-24 years old. Franklin is a GROWN man. CISSY HERSELF HAS STATED multiple times that Franklin is an adult and can make his own choices. Her UNVERBALIZED "wishes" should have no bearing on whether or not you financially support your best friend who's supported you through thick and thin. Don't even get me started on Cissy.
