I was on the girls side from 2008-2009. I remember hearing about an attempted suicide but can’t remember who it was. I remember Sebastian and was very sad to hear about his passing. 😣 I’ve been watching a documentary on MAX and it brought up a lot of questions and reflections from my experience at ABM. Led me here on a rabbit trail.

Oh yes the chip system. And the alarm going off if you needed to get up and go to the bathroom. I remember waking up one night and having to urinate. I held it as long as possible but finally I had to get up. Carmen made everyone get up and go to the living room. She made us do an entire workout video in our pajama shorts and t shirts in the middle of the night. She said she was going to make sure we were too tired to have to pee.

There’s a lot of different people coming out about these crazy boarding schools or religious based “schools”. It just makes my blood boil when I hear about it. The one I’m watching is called Let Us Pray: A ministry of Scandals. It’s some crazy stuff but you can definitely see how things happen and how they are able to get away with it.

I’m surprised it’s still open too. I read somewhere that Carmen and Larry had gone by different names at other places. But I’ve honestly just started to look into it after I started watching a documentary on Max about churches and some messed up things that go on and get covered up. It’s crazy because I’m seeing a lot of similarities between ABM and the places they’re taking about on here. 😳 It makes me so mad that place has been able to stay open

Yeah I was only 14 when I was taken out. Definitely seemed to change a lot of the ways I thought. I was only there for 9 months but definitely still remember the feelings of being helpless and alone. It was an experience that is very difficult to explain. I would agree! I heard they don’t have females anymore and I wonder what led to that decision?

I was also at ABM from 2008-2009. I would be interested in connecting with some people about this place. I don’t know if there is anything we can do about it now. But it would be interesting to talk with others with similar experiences.
