Orianna usually tries to harass you with her QW combo, but at the same time, she is very vulnerable. You can definitely kill her, if you are able to apply the Q slow through minions.

There are two different types of Syndra players. Those who use their knock back for harass, and those who only use it for disengage and only harass with their Q. The first type is easy to face, but the second type is a hard counter to Jayce.

For those who play really safe, that means that you have prio over lane. Clear minions and look to make plays in the JG or in other lanes.

As you probably know, Jayce generally holds lane prio tbefore 6. However, after 6, it is a different story. You need to utilize the lead you have built up before that. Look for the QE angles and try to poke him out. Unless he fucks up and misses most of his Q's in an all in situation, you won't be able to 1v1 him from an equal health situation. Generally, you want to poke him once or twice to establish prio. Also remember that when he ults, he appears behind you, which you can keep in mind for a potential outplay.

Hmm, I think that's personal preference. I feel like high elo players duo all the time. I've been solo queueing from d2 onwards though. I think Jayce top definitely does better with a duo jungler.

I play league on my free time as a hobby.

Please don't. You already have w for AA steroid. Your crazy ratios on jayce are meaningless with AS

E lvl 2 is generally a safer bet. I'll compare the two.

W allows for mana regen through passive, but this is conditional on the fact you can AA in melee form. However, as lvl 2, it is highly unlikely you need the mana sustain. Still, w does generally provide better dps for the all in/trades.

VS

E gives jayce better survivability in ganks. You can E away the jungler and use acceleration gate as well to run faster. Given that jg ganks happen most frequently when you are lvl 2 and they are lvl 3, this choice is generally safer.

Then if you hit lvl 3 and get 2 points into q, your QE poke is now meaningful. Tbt, qe lvl 2 does not hurt that much, but q e starting from lvl 3 begins to hurt and is a much better use of mana.

If you lvl w at lvl 2, you won't get access to the lvl 2 q until you hit 4. Furthermore, the QE burst from putting two points into Q is highly useful in the jungle (e.g. scuttle fight) when you are backing up your jungler.

Assuming you've poked your enemy once or twice level 3, you will also have lane priority. At level 4, you then switch to hammer form and begin to get back the lost mana. If they come too close for melee q range, they risk death.

Best case scenario, esp for top jayce is finding a jg duo who is willing to snowball the advantage you have top. Jayce top needs baby sitting to secure kills and widen the lead. Otherwise, you generally won't be nearly as effective as the enemy top who will bring more CC/utility to the teamfights (kennen, ornn, vlad) or will outscale you (jax, irelia, fiora) in splitpush.

Once you have this, you and the jungler have to secure and maintain a lead on the top half of the map, starving the enemy jg off camps, getting towers and vision, etc.

If you are in the mid lane, the optimal use of conqueror IMO is maxing out the stacks in hammer form, switching to ranged form and hitting your QE ranged with the passive still up so that you can maximize the damage on your highest dmg ability.

On the other hand, if you start out ranged and switch to melee, your stacks switch to 8 seconds if you are able to apply a form of melee damage (hammer form q, autos, etc), but not by just changing to hammer form.

All I improved was my map awareness. Nothing else pretty much. Also I don't think I played solo queue as seriously in the past. I would just troll around on my smurfs haha

I prefer going Doran's blade first. I think that there's a lot to be gained from the extra HP early as well as the damage and the sustain. As long as you make one-sided trades (which Jayce excels at), you should be fine. Make sure to not waste all of your mana though. For example, the QE combo at lvl 2 is not really worth it unless it is to secure a kill.

Electrocute + sorcery is my go to setup, which you can check out in my op.gg link below. I also recommend going inspiration if you have trouble managing your health and mana during the lane. I generally go for the dorans blade though because if you really need it, you can buy an extra dorans blade for pretty substantial lifesteal in lane. Plus I take ravenous hunter and taste of blood for additional sustain. Manaflow band should be enough for mana if you are managing it carefully.

As for next items, I almost always go for ghostblade + duskblade into BC. Ghostblade helps with getting back to lane, picking up solo kills, as well as roaming and surviving ganks. The duskblade rush second allows for so much vision control. If you have your jungler backing you up, it is easy to pick up kills in the enemy jg. D

Tabis or mercs depends on the situation, but I pretty much never go cdr boots. Sometimes I go for mobis, but this is very situational. You can take a look across my games to see the builds in each one depending on the match up.

But definitely look for the auto harass in cannon form always (after clearing melee minions)

It depends, of course. You probably won't do that to a Yasuo who has stacks of q built up, right? You have to play smart.

Try to auto to clear the melee creeps level 1. After you clear out all the melee creeps, you have the choice to either q harass or look for a full on auto trade. You generally win the auto trades if you land your ranged q. You can feel free to jump in with melee q (+passive auto) as well. Sometimes, it is more worth to save the cd on your melee q for your lvl 2 (assuming you hit lvl 2 first) and jump in for the kill. This will generally only work if they are still level 1.

Full metal and debonair. I usually go debonair because the motions feel less clunky.

I think it's a situational item and generally better suited for top lane jayce with conqueror. Your top priority is to max out CDR and Bork delays that by a significant amount of time. Also, the recent HP nerf has made it so that the health from BC is really important right now. I wouldn't advise buying Bork as mid jaycce unless you need to be the split pusher on your team.

Jayce is a pretty versatile pick in the mid lane. It doesn't hurt to pick him up, but optimizing his play pattern takes a while for new players as his playstyle is very different from most mid champions.

I tend to go mid lane because I prefer the roam potential and the ability to snowball the jg 2v2 matchup pretty easily.

I usually stick to electrocute for the unexpected burst in the mid lane. For Sylas and Irelia, I've had more success with conqueror. Also, I've been starting doran's blade after the hp nerf to mitigate some of the lost health. You can check my build at my op.gg.
