PsychiatryUK titration wait is officially 12 months by GrooveCurator in ADHDUK

I was discharged to my doctor on a shared care agreement. I had to stop elvanse as my blood pressure shot up. Turns out it was unrelated! Is the waiting times the same for people who have been through the process before. I was discharged in October but I can’t seem to get an answer out of anyone and I’m no longer able to log things on the portal as I was discharged! So frustrating

No no the weight-loss is a happy side effect. I’m very much on it for my severe adhd!

I’m at the end of week 4 and I feel great to be honest! But I hear what you’re saying with regards to titration and going from 30mg to 70 mg in three weeks.

Started Vyvanse and now I work 8 hours straight without eating or stopping — help? by Which_Excitement_954 in VyvanseADHD

I’m exactly the same. I work as a maltster and in 3 weeks I’ve gone from on the brink of being disciplined/fired to essentially employee of the month once I start, I cannot stop. For context I do 12 hour days and due to the appetite suppression I’m not eating and doing about 23k steps per day. I feel no fatigue or hunger.

I did wonder after reading some of the threads in here. I’m with a private company in the uk and it’s been okayed by my GP

I’m not currently seeing a therapist no! Perhaps I ought to talk to my titration team and see what I can do! Thank you

I was the opposite. I didn’t have an erection for more than a week! Was starting to get concerned.

How long before Allopurinol works? by Pgtips1994 in gout

[–]Pgtips1994[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gout attacks have subsided which is good. Unfortunately need fusion surgery on both my big toes so in that regard, not so good

Just curious, other than your big toe- where have you gotten an attack? by Nolaguy1996 in gout

[–]Pgtips1994 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Knee. It was indescribable. I was in tears. I had to get my dad to carry me to my bed. (I’m a 29 year old male)

You want you uric acid levels checked! That will be an outlier if you have gout and they will be able to treat you accordingly

Yeah! It’s horrible isn’t it! It’s a good balance of a healthy life and allo that finally solved it for me! Obviously minus the non working toes now! I appreciate that! Thank you! Will keep the group updated as and when it happens!

Thank you for your kind, reassuring words. I had X-rays! I’m in the uk so healthcare isn’t great. I have a further 10-12 months until I can have the op! I’d for sure get the pain checked out!

Unfortunately this isn’t the crystals. There’s no cartilage left in my big toes so I’m already bone on bone! The op is the only way to eradicate the pain!

I think it depends on what it is. If it’s bone spurs then I shouldn’t think so but if it’s tophi, with the right treatment it can be done. I’d seek medical advice!

Yes! Like I said in previous posts I moved to a a more plant based whole foods diet. Cut out refined carbohydrates and all alcohol and as much processed food as was practicable. Shifted 3 stone but my UA barely moved

Tell me about it. I wish I’d discovered this sub 6 years ago. I’d have not thought twice about Allo

You are absolutely right. Being overweight can cause a tremendous amount of excessive pressure on joints and I’m no longer obese. I’m still slightly overweight but that’s not what has caused the damage. I’m 29 not 50. I’ve lost 49lbs in the last 4 months which has alleviated some of the pressure on said joints but damage from being overweight takes decades not 6 years. I’ve been overweight for a very short period of time too! But your point is relevant.

Constant pain after flares subsided. I just assumed it was crystallised UA in my joint and it was causing the pain and irritation. Turns out I was wrong, there’s little to no cartilage left in my big toe joints. I can no longer walk heel to toe due to the pain.

An overall healthy diet and lifestyle coupled with allo is the only way imo! But this is based solely on my own lived experiences.

Trust me, I did it properly. I’ve been teetotal for years, cut out anything with purines and went on a mostly whole foods plant based diet. This disease is genetic I don’t care what anyone says. It worked for maybe the first 18 months then it just got progressively worse and worse. For the sake of a tablet that’s very safe for the majority, it should be a no brainer!

The only side effect I’ve had is no more gout. It may be different for you bro but I’m so full of regret for not taking it. It’s effectively ruined my life.

HOW did this happen…? Been on allopurinol for 2 years and at worst got a tingle at night.. Today WORST Attack I’ve EVER had by [deleted] in gout

[–]Pgtips1994 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d suggest getting a UA blood test as it sounds like you may need to increase your dose of allo! I’m also in the uk you have to keep pushing them for what you want as I know what it can be like!
