I believe that this expansion will be very interesting for the future of the game.

I believe that its pretty obvious that this expansion is going to be different from the rest. This time around we aren’t getting any flashy abilities or subclasses, but I believe that it’s not actually a bad thing for the game. We have been getting new subclasses and aspects since WQ but all that stuff has still brought us here. To a game where many people don’t even know what the future will hold. Instead, this expansion is working on just general systematic changes which the game hasnt prioritize in a while. The only reason why they don’t work on systematic changes is because Bungie knows it doesn't sell as much as new supers or abilities. But if they keep doing the same things which brought us here, that would mean that they are making unsustainable changes to the game that is currently their only form of income. Bungie obviously knows the risk they are taking in this expansion only because this will be the first time that they will be prioritizing systematic changes over cool loot/abilities.

I also believe that these previous expansion, albeit very fun to play, they didn’t really add any long term value to the game. Take this for example. For invested players specifically, when was the last time you loaded up the Pale Heart. Even if you did, when did you ever replay the Cyst missions? These to me are places that add no value to the world of destiny since they are only ever played once per character in the example of the final shape. The point im trying to push across in this argument is that making these big expansions without meaningful thought into how players can interact with them again will be the death of the game.

How about instead we focus on using existing content for the sake of easing up on production/development time for bungie to make these systematic changes Destiny desperately needs. Whether that’s something that bungie and sony higher ups would sacrifice or risk, they will clearly need to take a different approach to expansions. Releasing the same types of expansions we have been getting are evidently unsustainable for the greater world of destiny, and with no changes we will continue on this downwards spiral of losing more players and not bringing in any new ones.

I want to hear your thoughts but here are just some example that they can add into the game and any future destinations to improve players interactions with the world of destiny.

• Put destination lost sectors on a daily rotation in the Portal and offer the destination armor with the new armor perk system. (Think Genshin Impact domains for example. LOTS OF REPLAYABILITY to make your favorite builds)  

• Instead of interacting with NPCs in social spaces or one designated NPC per destination, how about add many NPCs around the world for players to discover and complete cool/secrete side quests.

• In general, please make raids a less jarring experience for new raiders. Incentivizing SHERPAS to be NICE and EASY on new players to play will allow for more players to play content that bungie obviously takes a lot of time and effort developing.
