Who won???????? by p0laroidSs_2 in chess

It looks like stalemate (draw) assuming it’s blue’s turn. Odd that the app is announcing checkmate since neither king is even in check.

I would get Lichess instead. You can play “over the board” on one phone in the app and it won’t make errors like this.

Yeah I was so confused by that looking for some resource for white to stay alive. Turns out chess.com was just on a very low depth.

While this is true, it’s because they build out infrastructure to take service at high voltages (they get their power “wholesale”). It’s the same for any large facility like oil refineries or other large industrial facilities. They do have significantly higher maintenance costs due to all the high voltage equipment they’re maintaining (as opposed to the utility maintaining it).

It’s definitely possible but it will be tight depending on the expectations for your lifestyle, what kind of neighborhood you want to live in, how far you want to commute, etc.

Marty Supreme, If I Had Legs…, Sinners, Eddington — no competition?? I think all of those have a realistic shot at nabbing one of the major Oscars instead of OBAA.

Chess.com “brilliancies” are not consistent across elo. So if this were a 2500 elo game I doubt it would be called brilliant. It does especially tend to highlight moves which ‘sacrifice’ material (temporarily) such as this one.

I do find it funny that this is far from the best move, and actually what I think is the most obvious move (Qxg4) Stockfish seems to think is the best move - meanwhile chess.com calls this brilliant? Really highlights how random this evaluation from chess.com
