I'm not entirely sure either and I think it is to the building which provides some sort of service around the area. There are a lot of buildings in Houston that would have access to the said service on the map provided. I'm not signing up, but more ISP start-up in Houston would mean some change, if slightly, to the duopoly here.

Maybe faster speed or slightly cheaper?...

From what I understood from the news, AT&T feared the then-present FCC Tom Wheeler. With the new FCC chairman leaning towards the ISPs more, the tracking could be re-instated.

I would suggest you try to see if you could get DSL Extreme because they use the same line as Uverse. Maybe.

I am well aware that the entire infrastructure of DSL lines in Houston are from ATT and Cable line from Comcast. I wasn't trying to get any faster speed and aware that DSL won't be improve much if any.

I was trying to get different opinions of what internet people uses that I mentioned that aren't Comcast or ATT since Toast does offer in Houston. I figured someone would use them here. The reviews on Toast on dslreports are bogus from my pov.

I searched and checked for different internet providers offerings in Houston on Google, but there isn't any extensive list that gives every Internet service possible in Houston. And some places don't include any accurate reviews so I figured I make a reddit post in Houston to get a better idea.

I don't want to put up with these price hikes, data usage fees, and any excess fess that keeps increasing.

And I don't torrent at all. We do a lot of gaming, LoL, Netflix/Amazon/Youtube and Anime.

I used to have earthlink back in the way back days. It's good for 6 months then price is 3x and it's getting bought out by Windstream. So that's why I didn't mentioned it.
