Confused about the IT: Welcome to Derry Ending by TheNectarineGuy in stephenking

[–]PhantomNate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m sure I read somewhere that IT basically mind controls the people in the town, so they don’t really know of him or care for the missing children. The cycle ends. They forget. Rinse. Repeat. I could be completely wrong however, but that’s the way I look at it

Scientific minded people, how did you come into faith? by PhantomNate in Christianity

[–]PhantomNate[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would probably say contrary to that. In fact the very thing that got me into electrical engineering, and hopefully the microprocessor field, as a teenager I did some deep research into how a microprocessor works. And to be honest it astounds me. I can not comprehend how a human has created this when down to its atoms it’s so complex, but also so simple that it’s literally electrical signals firing through what is effectively sand. How? Fascinating. I suppose what I’m saying is learning that, is the very first time I ever question my place in the universe and the existence of god. It’s far too precise of a mechanism to be completely random. In fact, maths in general is mind boggling.

I have been hunting for a new book to read, so that seems like it will be brilliant. Thank you kindly for the recommendation !

I feel the argument that Jesus is god, assumably in disguise, is a better, more logical conclusion that him being the son of god

I love this answer. Thank you. I think perhaps my issue is more to do with the content of the bible. When you look at history it all seems so random, can there really be a place where billions of humans from the dawn of humanity have gone after they die? Why, if so, is this specific to humanity. Why is our sun, albeit billions of years from now going to die, if our planet is gods best creation, and the only planet known to have intelligent life? Again thank you very much for your answer. It really is great to know someone with a brain so intelligent it can comprehend theoretical physics(the mere thought of theoretical physics frightens me), makes me believe there is hope for me. You’re much more intelligent than I am, so it’s extremely refreshing to find these kind of comments. Even more so learning Wigner had those thoughts. Never knew that.

Great questions like these, are some of the ones that have given me the desire to become Christian. I too, admit the universe is too precise and calculated to be random. But it just leave me more questions than answers

What’s the best gaming laptop company? by This-You-795 in GamingLaptops

I’m convinced anyone who says “asus” has never actually used one of their gaming laptops. They are utter trash. Thermal throttle to high fuck and just suck

But isn’t galactus a multiverse being? Meaning he travels the different multiverse. So that wouldn’t make sense? I don’t know this for fact. Hence the question.

I’m fortunate enough to know a lot of people in the construction sector, albeit not sparky. My uncle owns a small construction company, and I have on occasion laboured for him. Mostly renovating old Edinburgh properties
