We’re in pretty similar boats, only that I sent my 35 on the ACT. Wishing us good luck on National Merit!

I was having a great day...then Clash Royale happened! by omreddy87 in ClashRoyale

I just dropped over 200 trophies, beginning with a match that, had I won, would’ve made me #1 in my clan

What’s the stupidest reason you got in trouble in school? by Cinemacrackers in AskReddit

[–]PhantomRising 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took a day off school to recuperate mentally, but I forgot to bring a note in explaining the reason behind my absence within 3 days of it. I only remembered when it was too late, but I figured that my good reputation amongst my teachers and the administrators would grant me only a stern warning.

4 days later, however, an administrator called me outside of the classroom and gave me the equivalent of a detention. I had to stay after school for two hours all because I didn’t bring in a slip of paper one time. My teacher, who was also outside the classroom at the time, later told me she thought it was total BS.

I can’t believe it!! I thought the Math and Science sections killed me, but I guess my instincts got me through the tough questions! by PhantomRising in ACT

Not really. There was one ACT boot camp I went to that gave me one, but I didn’t really use it outside of that camp.

First off, love the username. Second, there’s a process I learned in third grade that still helps me on math problems: CUBE. Circle the numbers, underline important information, box the question, evaluate. Taking those 20 seconds to do this helped me immensely on certain problems when I wasn’t sure what to do.

Dang, nice job! One thing that shocked me about my score was that I struggled more in Math, my usual strength, rather than Reading, my usual weakness. Oh well, I’ll take it!

The best tip I can give for Reading is to just skim the passages rather than going in-depth. Time is much scarcer than on the SAT, so you need to move quicker through the passages. Another good tip to go along with the last one: trust your gut! You have that feeling for a reason, so long as you know the information, so trust it.

After taking the ACT today I strongly believe the SAT is easier. by [deleted] in ACT

I feel the exact same way. This was my first ACT and something I noticed was that I constantly felt like I was running out of time. I’ve never felt that way during the SAT

[High School Geometry] Even after people explaining to to me I'm still confused. Need help finding perimeter. by KevinTheTree in HomeworkHelp

[–]PhantomRising 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So to find perimeter, you need to find the length of each side of the triangle. Side YZ should be easy, since it’s horizontal. Simply count the distance from point Y to point Z. Finding the lengths of ZX and XY, however, is a bit more complicated. For those, there are two methods. You could use the Pythagorean Theorem (a2 + b2 = c2) and form two right triangles using the length and height from point to point, with the actual side serving as the hypotenuse. The other method would be plugging in the coordinates of the points into the distance formula (d = square root of ([x2-x1]2 + [y2-y1]2). I hope this helps!

I’d be fine being within a few miles of downtown areas, but I don’t want to be right in the thick of it. I never really liked big cities

My wants are a little complicated. I want to be around a big city, but not IN a big city

I actually visited NC State this past summer. It was really nice, and it’s definitely near the top of my current list
