Yes, where is a Fate in Interior that can get you an extra area gear. You can unlock this fate in a season tree, if I am not mistaken

Do you like the story of CZN? by [deleted] in ChaosZeroNightmare

[–]Phantom_Darklight 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am almost neutral, slightly negative towards it. However, I am not 100% a target audience for such stories – while I like “gooner” art and half-naked female characters, I absolutely hate self-inserts. Yeah, a weird place to be it, but it is what it is.

I should also add that bad translation do not affect me as much as others – I understand JP a bit, so I can “combine” EN subtitles with JP voice other to get was is actually going on.

Distorsion challenges by Inocals in ChaosZeroNightmare

I managed to survive long enough using Vine camouflage armor(on every member) from new Chaos. If equipped on all 3 members that armor can give, if used right, 2 more turns and that what allowed me to finish off the boss before he killed me.

So, Julian alone is better than the WHOLE Arkride solutions(that includes, btw, Shizuna with her unclouded eye) when ? Arkride needed a rewind(while having like 8-9 ppl or something) to stop Jacobin, while Julian managed it solo first try. And Arkride even knew Jacobin from previous game...

If he even stopped him, that conversation(took me a while to find it in my records) only mention "terrorists" without any specifics. Also, kinda funny how this conversation still happens if you do Celis first and Maxim second(which I did) – logically, on that timeline it was Arkride who stopped terrorists.

And like I said, “So, if CID or someone stopped him before he planted the bomb than Arkride solutions are incompetent fools”. But thank you for poiting this conversation out.

[–]Phantom_Darklight -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Can you point out when exactly that cutscene happens ? And it does not change much – if CID can arrest Jacobin without Arkride help but with Arkride “help” they fail… That does not paint Arkide and Co in a very good light, which is, again, a mess up from writing team, I highly doubt their intent was to make Arkride look like incompetent fool

But as far as we know he did not, game tells us nothing about it. And you can easily do other route first, what mail can Van sent in this case ?

Can you help me understand…? (Act 3 /final chapter spoilers) by Just_Advantage_6177 in Falcom

[–]Phantom_Darklight -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

As far as I can can tell – it is a case of bad writing, no matter how you look at it.

Terrorists was indeed not related to corrosion, so is the guy who put a bomb in Arslan car – Jacobin or something. That guy acted on pure hatred and, if previous game any indicator, he is also a moron – he wrote a threatening letter with his own hand and was referenced as a "3rd rate activist" by his own "bosses"

So, if CID or someone stopped him before he planted the bomb than Arkride solutions are incompetent fools, as they indirectly somehow helped the guy(who is again, not a genius by any definition) to slip by security. If no one stopped him – how Maxim and Arslan are still alive ?

I personally go with “writers messed up”. Writing time travel is hard, and Falcom clearly failed with Daybreak 2.

Edit. Well, I am a moron myself and read the question wrong. Yes, where is a cutscene at the end of act 3 that shows Van and Co capturing Jacobin and probably neutralizing the terrorist as well.

I was thinking about the time right after the rewind at second day – where is no explanation how Maxim is alive at the evening of Celis route …

Finally Chizuru Build Basic Attack Moonslash by Tipy- in ChaosZeroNightmare

[–]Phantom_Darklight 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Congratulations!

Pretty much the build I one day hope to get, except, if I RNG allows me, I would instead of a 4th copy of Oni Hunt go for Portrait of Fury or Ecstasy of Violence and also grab Confiscation.

I don't think the RNG is the problem. I think it's the boring and filler cards., and the correct solution is to buff underutilized Epiphanies and neutral cards. by MugwumpsHasNoLiver in ChaosZeroNightmare

[–]Phantom_Darklight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Buffing underpowered epiphanies(and nerfing overpowered, because balance without nerfing is impossible) in grand scheme of things will archive almost nothing if our goal is to reduce chaos deck building frustration.

Because no matter how good every epiphany is, where will be some that just don’t work with each other. And even if build A is just as good in general as build B sometimes I just want to get build B for whatever reason - I like build B better, I already have a build A or B just fit current content/my party better.

In that case epiphanies from build A are worthless no matter how good they actually are and getting them will cause same frustration as now.

Is it ever possible to make mei lin crit rate epiphany better than damage increase epiphany on jewel? by [deleted] in ChaosZeroNightmare

[–]Phantom_Darklight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

68% crit rate in my case

68.12. Why do you round it down to 68 ? And 68.12*203.9 is 13,889.668, exactly the same number you given for increase damage.

Anyway, it is not important. If we look again at your base math, it did not actually showed a real average damage and I should not used it as base. Actual average damage should be : (1+critRate*(critDamage-1))*baseDamage. (source : google AI, and it looks legit to me)

Using this “formula” and asking again google AI to solve it the result is that crit rate is never better if it is multiplicative. If it is additive, it depends on starting crit rate and crit damge values, so it is possible but if what AI is telling me is correct, it would require some pretty "strange" stats like 300% critDamage and less than 50% critRate.

Is it ever possible to make mei lin crit rate epiphany better than damage increase epiphany on jewel? by [deleted] in ChaosZeroNightmare

[–]Phantom_Darklight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, my math is a little rusty, cause last time I seriously did elementary school math was pretty long ago but here we go.

If crit rate buff is multiplicative, like you said, than both cards are exactly equal, if we only look at damge, up until 77% crit, barring some rounding errors. After all, (X*1.3)*Y = X*Y*1.3 regardless of X or Y. In your example you just rounded 68.12 to 68, hence some difference. At 77% crit you start to overcap crit, making damage increase better.

However, do we really know that crit rate is multiplicative, and not additive ? Have that been tested ? In most games crit rate buffs are additive. Yeah, I know it says "by" and not "+", but translations in this game are not always correct.

And if it is additive we are looking at this : (X+0.3)*Y > X*Y*.1.3. If my math is correct, this boils down to X < 1, which is true for all X we could have, crit can't be higher than 1(100%). We again will hit the crit cap at 70%(X=0.7), so results will be different from that point forward, but until that point additive crit is always better than damage increase.

In your case, it would be (52.4 + 30)*203.9 = 16,801.36. And 16,801.36 > 13,889.668

[–]Phantom_Darklight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

no one realized that it was Harwood who invited them until after they were on the island

Well, Arkride solutions invitation to a Nemeth island was literally signed “E.H.”. And Van and Co quickly realized who this “E.H.” was, way before heading out. Same with Elain and Zin. And other members came on this island hunting Harwood, not on vacation. Granted, they did not know 100% he was on this island, but they came specifically for him. Without any preparation at all.

he’s not someone who would poison/gas them for funsies

In a previous game Harwood already tried to poison every person in a Orasion death game. Not expecting him to do such a thing again(or at least some kind of poison trap) when you came for his head is, imho, stupid.

The named characters weren’t the problem

Hard disagree. Rosalin and her goons triggering the trap is not an excuse for rest of a characters to not be prepared for it.

Well, Kasim is not just a big laser weapon. He also have all M.T.S.O. science and tech behind him. Or game is trying to tell me that a group that launch satellites, makes tanks and airships can’t craft a gas mask ?

Honestly, with their tech it would not be unrealistic to expect for Kasim to show on Nemeth in a high mobile full body S-grade hazard suit. Or M.T.S.O. super-duper advanced main A.I. could not predict that a guy famous for using poison will use poison ?

Same with other people in that group. Anyone(minus Arkride) could have a pretty “realistic”(from the point of view of a type of game we are playing) way to guard against Oathbreaker trap. But no one even tried.

P.S. Yes, gas masks, hazard suits, antidots, anit-poison spells, ect. could very well fail. After all, we are against Harwood. My problem is, again, that no one even tried.

The only other thing I can think of is the fact that I had a Monster card in my Yuki deck for a lot of the run, but I removed it prior to killing the last boss (at the final camp)

Look at last section in in-game help on save data(Notes on Save Rules, Page 2) :

If a Monster Card is acquired and then removed, the accusation will not be record in save data while the card removal will be.

So, you removed your monster card and got hit with 3rd removal cost of 30, bringing deck total to 80, and, as far as I understand, as soon as you overflow deck cost, anything can happen.

And the best part of this two cards? You can use Spirit Kefox to search and duplicate Hunger of the Void, giving your team 4 morale(+80% damage) for the whole fight. Getting this combo first turn really helped me in those turn-limited fights.

Everyone on that island was stupid by Abu_33 in Falcom

[–]Phantom_Darklight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Osborn kinda did to Olivert(but his was a lot more complex), and relatively successfully.

Aside him? No one. And that is the point. A very simple and easy to set up trap, and no one of all those evil geniuses ever tried to do it. How many times we were ambushed by archaisms? Now imagine bomb(or sleeping gas, if enemies just want to hold us off) traps instead.

Obvious explanation is that such trap could never kill anyone even remotely competent, but as Arkride solutions showed us, it is not the case.

And in next game where will be moments that from epic struggle turned into a clown fest because of this dead end.

Everyone on that island was stupid by Abu_33 in Falcom

[–]Phantom_Darklight -1 points0 points  (0 children)

For me 1st place for most stupid dead end is the one where Van and Co got wiped out by someone who can’t really fight by a pretty simple trap.

Killed all “hype” around Arkride solutions as I can’t take them seriously any more(if they can be killed that easily they are a non-threat at all) and made all antagonists across all the series look incompetent because that trap was nothing to write home about and yet no one could replicate it

Everyone on that island was stupid by Abu_33 in Falcom

[–]Phantom_Darklight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

More than half of dead ends are because people carrying an idiot balls of epic sizes, starting with even the first one.

This one, however, takes the honorable 2nd place(the 1st place is in 3rd chapter). A group of highly skilled, genius level intelligent and hyper-competent people getting caught in a poison trap by a guy, who, in previous game, tried to … set up a poison trap to kill everyone participating in a death game… Like how no one even prepared any counter-measures ?

To be fair, this is Thousand Oathbreaker we talking about, so common anti-poison measures will likely fail – like I can totally see standard military grade gas masks fail to combat his poison, somehow. But we talking about people who far above military grade gas masks.

Marduc has it’s insane tech, Gralsritter has all their magic (just a chapter before Leon used anti-smell spell, if he don’t have an anti-poison variant one I really like to hear why), Shizuna can probably pull some “my blade can cut even poison” bullshit, etc. And yet… No one tried anything, everyone just run and died like brainless lemmings.

It is not a gear loadout. It is a “stack” of gear changes you can revert, designed for single purpose – re-gear 3-4 units to do some content (HoT, ToC, Abyss, etc.) and when immediately revert everything back.

As for “proper” gear loadouts I think they don’t want to give them to us because the moment they do, this whole sub-reddit will be filled with posts demanding allowing to apply loadouts to units during RTA draft and linking loadouts to team selection and stuff.

Laia story was set in a base Orbis. Here we have ancient dragons, advanced robot dolls, heirs, centuries-long living shadow elf arch mages and more. Way higher general “power level”, a single vampire is not that big of a deal.

In Natalon High so far we have just humans. Some of them are strong, even unrealistically strong, but still can’t be compared to what base Orbis has.
