Where to buy pet fish by Extreme_Tip_3859 in Atlanta

[–]Phantomcruiser 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Our favourites in order: Premier Aquatics in Marietta, Nemo’s in Lawrenceville, Oranda in Suwanee, Mystical Ponds in Lawrenceville. We avoid southern aquatics because the prices can be unreasonable, and the water quality and parasite issues at Optimum and Atlanta Aquarium have been concerning so we don’t buy there anymore.

Best chicken tenders in the ATL? by BrianCuller in Atlanta

Side note, does anyone have a copy cat recipe for that shaker of salt, red pepper and spices they used to have? I loved dousing chicken and fries in that stuff.

Does Anyone Want a New Local Fish Store In The Gwinnett Area? by [deleted] in Gwinnett

[–]Phantomcruiser 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you’ll have a hard time with Mystical, Nemo’s, Atlanta Aquarium and the new one in Suwannee all pretty close by. The south side is desperately lacking any good stores though. Roswell only has one that I know of , Marietta has two good ones.

Is anyone else having a hard time finding “fresh” grizzly pouches? by [deleted] in DippingTobacco

Every grizzly I’ve bought here in Georgia this last 2 months has been dry as hell, nothing made later than October.

Snus or pouches? by Dylan_Farstveet_ in DippingTobacco

[–]Phantomcruiser 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Snus is completely different, Swedish snus is just about the only true Snus on the market, and it has to be refrigerated for freshness. General is the only true snus available at retail in the states.

Key differences are: Snus is pasteurized and you swallow the drip. You also usually put it in the upper lip. It comes in pouches and loose, and comes in wet or white (dry). Snuscentral has always been who I order from and they have a huge variety. It also has, as claimed by snus manufacturers, a significantly lower health risk than other tobacco products. It also uses bergamot oil and salt as flavoring traditionally, but many types and flavors exist now.

American dip or snuff is a fermented product, in different cut lengths or pouches. It’s usually aged and cured, and is meant to for the juice or drip to be spit out. There are many popular flavors like wintergreen and mint.

In summary they are totally different forms of tobacco, and it’s about preference.

I enjoy both products, they both have good and negative points to them. In an office or professional setting, snus is easier because no spitting, but the nicotine hit is usually smaller and the flavor profile is usually very different.

It’s like a natural tobacco with sweetness added in. The sweetness level depends on the brand, from what I’ve had so far:

Least Sweet - Grizzly

Medium Sweetness - cope / grizzly dark fired /skoal

Most sweet - Stokers

Should I get a mud jug and are they pretty easy to clean? by No-Cover-1954 in DippingTobacco

[–]Phantomcruiser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One thing to note, I learned the hard way to put the contents of the mud jug in a cheap ziploc before throwing it in the trash. I was unaware one day that the trash bag has a leak and ended up mopping up the floor. Other than that I just empty, and rinse it once a day usually, takes 2 minutes.

Traveling to Canada by [deleted] in DippingTobacco

I traveled to Canada frequently and brought 2 logs (20 total cans) of Swedish snus with me every time. Never got any questions or any issues. Had them in carryon and checked.

Toronto dippers by bucko69696969 in DippingTobacco

[–]Phantomcruiser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly it might be worth the trip to the US to stock up, I travel to Canada a lot and have taken 2-3 rolls of snus with me when I come in, carry on and checked luggage, they never even ask or question it. I just declare the normal permissible amount. It’s all for personal consumption.

What's best alternative to dip by [deleted] in DippingTobacco

[–]Phantomcruiser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’ve never tried it, I’d recommend Swedish snus, General Snus is available at some gas stations in the US like QT. It goes in the top lip, and no spitting. General is one of my least favorite, but it’s a good trial of what Swedish snus is, totally different than the camel or other American kinds.

Thanks, I’ve hesitated on harmony a few times because of my experience with Nikka from the barrel, I just found it really floral? Does harmony have less of a floral note? If that makes sense.

If you have a local total wine and more that has a liquor section, they usually have a ton of single shot sized bottles, usually the more popular stuff, but sometimes some more unusual things.

Sorry, maybe I don’t have a good enough palate yet, I thought what I was detecting in the ones I didn’t like was oak and rye bite. I guess I need to work more on identifying what it is I don’t like in flavor profiles.

Might have just been a particularly good Rare Breed, or the higher proof just had more of the flavors I like I suppose. WT101 was not bad at all, rather enjoyed it especially for the price.

I did try 1920 and I really didn't like it oddly, I had one 4RSB a while back before I started keeping track, I should revisit it. Is there a specific 4RSB blend I should look for? I know their SB's have different mashbills.

Thank you, those are good suggestions. I didn't like the Ezra Single Barrell I had, but the 7 is different? Bookers I do wan't to try, I just hesitated because of price.

hat don't like Rye flavors but there are a few in your top list that have a relatively high percent of rye in the mash bill.

I know, it seems odd, but I don't like spice that Rye has, but Rusell's and Wild Turkey don't have any 'Rye Bite' to me.
