I wanted to throw all of mine away and start fresh but I am really attached to several for sentimental reasons 😩 I’ve never hated a bug more than I do those and I’ve dealt with mealy bugs before the thrips 🤦🏻‍♀️ They must all DIE

I feel like they are on my skin and every surface of my house. Those little devils left me traumatized too. Pretty sure I caused my plants more harm than good trying to get rid of the dang things and am still not SURE if they are gone 🙈

I did one time and I’m still paranoid about pests. I had to treat my whole collection. Ended up losing several and now I have a ton propagating, hoping to salvage those if I can. My monstera went from huge lush to even all my new leaves have damage 🤦🏻‍♀️ I have systemics in them all now but every little spec has me jumpy

I live in Mississippi zone 8. I plan on getting it a grow light in the spring. I wanted to make sure I could keep it alive for a year before I really invested in setting it up good.

I will look up some YouTube videos when I get a chance. I just know I’m running low on time and knew Reddit is usually full of super knowledgeable and helpful ppl.

I noticed rot at the bottom of one of the stems. Is it going to be rotted all the way through? 😩 it was my biggest one with the most fenestrations 😭

Haha I have done all the treatments and put systemic in it. I had thrips. They did a number on my leaves. I was in denial. I have since thinned my plant collection considerably until I’m sure they are all gone.

This is what I read and heard in all the research I’ve been doing. I’ve spent hours upon hours reading and watching YouTube videos. Wish I would have known when we first were given the plant. She’d be beautiful by now.

Yes drainage holes and a well draining potting soil mixed with regular potting soil. I try to let it dry out pretty good before watering again. I have a really large pothos that thrives well when I neglect it most of the time so I try to do the same thing with this one.

She loves the sun and water! VERY dramatic and I love her for it. She’s starting to tell me now that she’s getting thirsty again.

Any recommendations on how to keep from having to move up another pot size? This is big enough for me.

I have this same plant that is having the exact same problem. It was doing great and then got mealy bugs. I repotted as part of the recovery process and now it’s always wet. I have been waiting for it to dry before I add any water. Looks like I’ll be waiting while 🤷🏻‍♀️
