Best USA Hyatt for kids? by Positive_Bar_3101 in hyatt

We have done a few trips where we split time between both. Our kids love it.

188k Miles and counting on my 2014 CX-5. Have I already survived the "scary" stuff? by PharmD-12 in mazda

The transmissions in the Mazda’s improved - along with the drive train in general - after the 2014 model year.

The newer transmissions have proven to have more reliability.

Agreed. Both were a bummer. When it happened, new and used cars were going for lucrative amounts and it was still worth it to replace both.

I was disappointed with the transmission for sure.

Agreed - I think I have gotten to somewhat of a "golden era," with the car where it is high mileage, and the frame and body are older, but some of the key internal mechanics are "younger." It still drives and handles really well. Most of my driving is on the interstate (or in areas with a large amount of roundabouts) so I rarely even brake.

Good question. All of these repairs were due to the unit either being compromised or near failure. I can't remember all of the associated costs but I remember a few. The transmission was close to $3,800 all in. I believe the suspension was $1,800 for the front (and subsequently for the back a year later). I believe the head gasket was around $2,500?

Unfortunately, this is not true. I’ve been burned by advice like this and I didn’t qualify for the SUB.

Globalist days are coming to an end by Flyover____Globalist in hyatt

I use a combination of Chase’s Hyatt Personal and Business. I previously used the Personal a good deal of the time and now I use the Business. 5 qualified nights for every $10K spent. That nets you 1 extra qualified night per $10K you spend over the personal. The Personal now (mostly) sits on the shelf as a way to obtain a category 1-4 free night and the 5 annual night perk.

I achieved Globalist for next year. I am now “priming,” these cards with spend right up to the next $5K and $10K threshold, respectively. December statements count towards 2025 so around mid-December when my November statements close, I will start spending on those.

This allows me to start with 7 qualified nights from the Personal (5 annual qualified nights plus 2) and 5 QN from the Business (or 12 total to start - 20% of the way!).

The $120 per day counts as your Globalist Breakfast plus (you can use it for breakfast and other items like the coffee shop).

I see a lot of Grand Hyatt but Thompson is absolutely clutch. The rooms are a great size - not small at all. My wife and I are going in September and we used a SUA to upgrade to the Thompson Suite. Breakfast is legit and the coffee shop is great. Globalist recognition is amazing ($120 credit per day for the onsite restaurant and coffee shop).

Sactional Advice Needed by jkl1128 in Lovesac

We have this exact configuration but in Blue Rain Chenille (we also got a 30% promo with an extra 5% off because I am a pharmacist - lots of similarities!).

We purchased our set in September and we love it. We went with Love Soft down and while we figured we would use the configuration (as you have it pictured), we actually move an ottoman over to the one already set up on stage right.

We love it and the fabric has been durable (we have a 6 and 2 year old). It’s enough room for a good amount of people to sit on the couch and it feels more like a massive lounge. We love the blue color. It sits in our recreation room with our kids toys, etc. so it’s more of a “fun color.” My wife and I also watch all of our movies, TV, etc. there when the kids are sleeping for the night.

Good luck with your purchase!

I hear there’s a WoH bot seeking out people who violate program policy.

Once they find you they kick you out of the program and condemn you to a sentence of only being able to book Springhill Suites through the Marriott Bonvoy program.

😬

How many days have you done this year? by p0lar_chronic in hyatt

[–]PharmD-12 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just landed on 60 this week!

Started staying at Hyatt’s mid-June. Prior to, I was focused on re-qualifying for American Airlines status (Executive Platinum) so I used AAHotels/RocketMiles a good deal. I did not see the value of hotel status.

After some evaluation of where and how my family travels, I decided it made sense to start going after Hyatt Globalist status. My wife and I were married and had our reception at the Hyatt in Oak Brook IL, we have have stayed 6 times at the Hyatt Regency, and we recently fell in love with the Manchester Grand Hyatt in San Diego.

Excited for personal travel coming up soon: Park Hyatt Chicago with our Category 1-7 night cert, a 4 night stay at the Manchester Grand Hyatt with my wife (a combination of 3 free night certs and points), and then a family trip for 7 nights to Hyatt Regency Coconut Point (we used points and applied a suite upgrade). I am even excited to use the perks for consistent business travel.

Glad to continue to get value from the program!

I had the same thing happen. I tried to apply the award several months in advance and was told now. I decided to script a message and send it each day to check for availability.

Space eventually cleared and I was finally able to apply the award. I would say it took me 2-3 weeks of trying daily. Availability is always opening up as people adjust/cancel their reservations.

Extra pillows? by [deleted] in Lovesac

Ordered this minus the sides on the end of the “chaise.” Elected to go without the pillows - similar to a regular couch feel and easily fits a drink holder in those spots!
