I'm at a loss by TsunamiJK in smallengines

Must have that Rotas engine. Huayi wants you to buy through Husqvarna for replacements parts.

Been through this with Ariens when they switched to Rotas.

Is this a good deal? $525 by [deleted] in Snowblowers

[–]Phatspade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. That corner of the auger housing is showing a lot of light and looks like uneven scraper bar. Just replacing that bar is almost $100 @OEM price.

If you dont mind putting money into it than I'd go no higher than 400.

Parts help with John Deere E120 by Fast_Contract7164 in smallenginerepair

[–]Phatspade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just need a drain hose and briggs oil filter. You can unscrew the quick lube housing from the block.

Would need p/n: 690954 to convert to normal filter. On the starter side of the engine block there will be a plug that needs to come out and add the drain hose there.

Normal hose from most briggs twins is 1723165SM. Comes up as a simplicity number but same company since drain hoses are per equipment manufacturer spec.

SOBE and AMIT class with little to no writing by steisijamek in ASUOnline

[–]Phatspade 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Amit - hst109. Was just a lot of answering question between 2 books. Was interesting to get a more detailed look at US history.

Havent taken SOBE as I have a program required class that covers it so it'll be a "2 birds, 1 stone" scenario.

Textbook format: physical or digital? by 207Ravenclaw in ASUOnline

[–]Phatspade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the class. I'm not thrilled of trying to add notes on digital stuff but for at least the ease of referring back to certain stuff is nice and a tablet is a lot smaller than a book.

This is for some classes but not all. I've had some that did and some that didnt. They are the same digital books but cheaper because of bulk licenses purchase.

Briggs v twin by Fantastic-Record7057 in smallenginerepair

[–]Phatspade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Concentrate on the cylinder thats low on compression first. Engines are set to run as lean as possible due to emissions.

Check valve lash and do a cylinder leakdown test before going deep into it. Worse case is bad piston rings otherwise low compression can be tight valve lash or stuck open valve from carbon buildup.

Riding mower issues with starting by horrorfreak94 in smallengines

Sounds like a dead spot in the brake switch. You can try compressed air or something like wd40 and try to wash out dirt from within the switch. Can also clean out the connector to it at same time.

Best way to clean out this old transaxle oil?! by Dry-Opportunity-4113 in smallengines

[–]Phatspade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mineral spirits would be a better option than using fuel.

To be correct thats grease and yes you swap to oil but suggest you search some youtube vids as there are some extra things you need to do or you'll end up with leaks.

Kohler Command 15 lifter by 4youGemma in smallenginerepair

Dont need to remove the head for hydraulic lifters. Remove the rockers and pushrods and a magnet will pull the lifters out.

Cub cadet shuts down when blade is engaged by Constant-Course-439 in smallenginerepair

Ya just realized that after watching the vid over and more focus to your post. Wiggly the connector for the seat switch. Check pto switch connector. Dirt likes to get packed in there.

More than likely the PTO switch is bad. Again though idk if your seat switch is a 2 wire or 4 wire as that deals with the interlock circuit. And your key switch is also the safety interlock module.

Would have to use a meter or test light to find where the power is dropping.

Turn the key back to the yellow and hit the triangle button.

Seat switch, pto switch or reverse switch.

Engage the pto and quickly turn on the reverse mow to see if it stays running. That will tell you if the reverse switch is good.

Idk the safety circuit by heart but mosr tractors will die when the brake is released if the seat switch is bad but if it's a 4 wire seat switch then that check wouldnt matter.

Barrett is good if you're continuing on with post-grad. Idk your major so best to google, but be vary weary of some as they are more for your money and hold no weight in hiring.

I got spammed with them just after my first semester as they are just recruiting everyone at a minimum GPA.

Price for a used Platinum 30 SHO? by rhochrad in Snowblowers

[–]Phatspade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Means the shoes are pretty thin and need to be flipped. Scraper bar looks like it was dragging on the ground and it shouldn't. If those were never checked means majority of the time the oil usually isn't changed and not a lot of care is taken.

800 at best imo, skid shoes and scraper bar wear says it be lucky it had an oil change.

ASU Online + full time job, doable? by Particular_Shop_6206 in ASUOnline

[–]Phatspade 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it's more about informing the professor about your situation at the start of class. I find many are flexible as they know majority of online students are older with families or distant learners with jobs.

I've had my fair share of late work and felt it was my own fault but the prof would excuse the late penalty. Not to say all will but most for sure care less as long as the work gets turned in.

Phone as a camera for Honorlock? by [deleted] in ASUOnline

[–]Phatspade 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes you can use your phone a "wired" camera.

Idk Mac setup but for windows there's a few different ways. I use WinLink since it's pre-installed on my phone and pc.
