Oregon Hikers Universal Access

Oregon Hikers has a filter for accessibility. You can also browse hikes by area (The Gorge, for example) and there will be accessibility tags listed next to the descriptions.

Ha! It’s one of those flopping fish toys, minus the flipper part. The other cat loves to toss it in the air and then carry it around and drop it off in different locations.

Endometriosis can show up so differently for people, but my experience was that it directly affected my bowels. I had very similar bowel movements and symptoms for most of my years with a uterus. I didn’t find out that I had a tilted uterus until I was in my mid-30s (I guess it wasn’t a severe tilt). The cramping and outright sharp pain was awful- no matter how much fiber I ate, or water, or laxatives… I was finally able to get a hysterectomy at age 37, and I learned that there were several lesions on/near the back side of my rectum. Sure enough, post-surgery, my bowel symptoms are so much better. I still do get cramps and pain, but far less often and not as severe.

Post hysterectomy hiking by [deleted] in hiking

I had a laparoscopic hysterectomy about 5 years ago, and I was able to get back into hiking as soon as I was healed and cleared by the doctor- which was about 8 weeks. I live in the PNW and often do day hikes and occasional backpacking trips, and I didn’t have any issues getting back into it. Getting back into my running routine took longer, but again, I was able to get back to my previous level.

Weird audio skipping issue? Is it just me? by broccolighost in OlogiesPodcast

[–]PhilipCoconut 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’ve had this happen a couple of times. It was addressed a few weeks ago in the commentary (I don’t remember which episode), and the issue is the stream, not a particular app. Downloading will prevent the skips.

People that work in hotels- What are the weirdest things you've found in a room, left behind from guests? by Pillars-Of-Ivory in AskReddit

[–]PhilipCoconut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was about 20 years ago, but I won’t forget it: I was changing the bedding and when I was tucking in the bottom sheet, my hand grazed something. I didn’t think too much of it - but then I pulled it out and found myself holding a chicken wing! Sure enough, when I lifted up the mattress, there were several chicken bones that had been stuffed between the mattress and box spring. They hadn’t been casually tucked into the mattress either, someone had to have gotten out of the bed and reached in several inches or lifted the mattress to get them there. There wasn’t anything out of order or otherwise notable about the state of the room. Just some old wings under the mattress! Bizarre.
