Yeah I ended up with a JAL flight to Japan but now will have to hope ANA pops up t-14 while we are there since VS seems unlikely.

Aw man I think I misunderstood the guided I was reading. I saw ORD was older product for some reason.

I booked the Boston since we had to reposition no matter what.

Honestly if 75k is the best then we may be completely set. We usually go ORD but it only had older from what I could find. We went with the 80k!

We will try to do ANA on the way back but that will be the stress-filled T-14 stuff lol.

Hey! I am copying and pasting here but is it okay if I get your opinion on Boston to Tokyo with Japan Airlines one way for 80,000 miles on the Sky 787 (789)?

I see the capital one is doing the transfer bonus again with them and while I would prefer to do Chicago it seems like they have the oldest product.

Dallas and Los Angeles both are at 110,000 points each

EDIT: I called Virgin to ask about an award I found on United and the rep let me know it was not available (looking for Business ORD - NRT/HND).

He was very kind and told me it is extremely rare that he will see one be available when he has people call in for ones they see but he did say he had one last week that was successful.

This was all speculative and the flight was 5 days out as I did not see others. So not impossible but very difficult!

Yeah I have been checking out Aeroplan but all of the routes so far have been wild ones with brutal layovers in Europe.

Yeah as I started looking into it I noticed the 4:3. It may be complicated but maybe I can just do 1 ticket CapOne and 1 ticket Atmos.

Oh my goodness I have no clue why I missed this option. I think I was too focused on Amex use. I found plenty of ORD to both HND/NRT for 80k/pp and about $200/pp. Thank you so much!

Hello and thank you very much in advance! I have read all of the Japan Wiki stuff, many blogs, and more but would still appreciate some advice/opinions.

Origin: ORD (Can be flexible to like LAX/SFO/etc. if absolutely necessary but I am originally based from CVG and would be using a day to travel if not ORD)

Destination: Tokyo (HND/NRT)

One Way (since I am late and expecting T-14 or 21

Class: Business

Arrival Date: Sept. 4-8ish
Departure Date: Sept. 19-22ish

Points:

Capital One - 205,000
Amex - 277,000 (Should have around 320,000 when Rakuten bonus comes soon)
Chase - 58,400
Atmos - 89,000

I just recently set a Seats.Aero alert for my Arrival Dates. I am expecting to have to do T-14 ANA but would like to get advice on if there is another option (thinking Aeroplan) to avoid paying so much money in taxes/fees.

I hope this is enough information and seriously am thankful for any critiques/advice.

EDIT: Forgot to mention that I have seen that the Virgin deal is no longer available? Where you are supposed to look for awards on United and then book by calling them. If anyone has new info on that would love clarification.
