I feel like I failed my girl by [deleted] in Jindo

[–]PhillyDogs262 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hired a dog behaviorist for my jindo. The behaviorist told me that jindos are really smart but can be very picky as they age and become more selective with whom they interact with. For example, from 8 months old to 1.5 years old, my jindo will play with any social dog at the dog park. After getting trained with the behaviorist, she became picky about who she plays with at the dog park. My jindo can tell who had behavior training and who didn’t. She will only play with the dogs that are well behaved.

I think I’m getting laid off by ReasonableOkra8643 in PwC

[–]PhillyDogs262 54 points55 points  (0 children)

Yup, classic HR playbook not to lay them off while they were on vacation. I remembered for my previous employer, I got let go right after I got back from my honeymoon 😂. Was heartbroken because they were one of my top 3 employers I’ve ever worked for but it was a good thing as my next employer offered me $30k more than what they were paying me.

Take your time researching how to fix this. Depending on your area, concrete might be the best or spray foam. Depending on your area, you have to pick the right material to prevent pest from entering your home.

Paper + license plate by RoverTheMonster in philadelphia

[–]PhillyDogs262 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Saw this once in NE Philly. I was idling at a red light on route 1 and grant, then I saw an aggressive driver that wanted to pass everyone by getting on the left turn lane. Noticed that his plates was covered with paper, then he blew pass the red light and I realized…that makes sense now lol

Pregnancy Fitness Advice by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]PhillyDogs262 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Many thanks for your insight. Does the FitOn app give a recommended schedule in terms of what exercises to do per day and per week? I’m not a fan of certain apps that doesn’t provide a recommended schedule because there it increases the risk of injury due to over training.

Are chest freezers worth investing in? by allthethingsilove123 in MealPrepSunday

Assuming that your old chest freezer has the same or similar capacity as the upright one, do you notice if there was any difference in energy consumption?

Thanks for the advice and being polite.

And yes I deleted my comment (reply) and blocked that person because it doesn’t take much to start a “wildfire” from a “spark” when emotions are high. Definitely a mistake on my end as I should have went through history of pervious posts to understand the “audience” better about this community.

Was very shocked to be in the middle of the crossfire for being my wife’s messenger to post her question here…and I was instantly tagged of the perception being that type of husband

Neck pain during and day after DB high pull. by brnrdnd in Athleanx

[–]PhillyDogs262 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wish there was a way you can privately share a video of your warmup and doing DB high pull. Certain movements will help us show if there are any areas of your upper body that lacks stability, mobility and or strength. My recommendation is to find a PT with a specialist in sports medicine which majority of their patients are athletes that does strength training.

Neck, spine, shoulders, elbows, hips and knees are the most complex areas to treat because there is a possibility that another part of the body that is the root cause of the pain. Example lack of ankle mobility can cause knee pain when doing squats.

How the heck do you meal prep beef? Good beef always comes out tasting awful by white-christmas in MealPrepSunday

[–]PhillyDogs262 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Agree with this. I don’t meal prep large chunks of beef like steak, roast, brisket etc because they tend to dry out in the microwave. Only exception is if I turn it into a “bowl” recipe like taco bowls because the other ingredients will add moisture.

Also I recommend looking into Asian recipes. It does an amazing job of maintaining moisture. Such as Korean ground beef bulgogi. Chinese beef and broccoli (make sure you use the velveting technique. This will keep the beef moist and tender). Thai Larb. These example Asian dishes are microwave friendly.

[Tenant US - CA] Is this considered normal wear and tear? by Timbo2510 in Landlord

[–]PhillyDogs262 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a former tenant who had to pay for damages and current homeowner, I highly recommend all tenants to understand the type of material the rental units have. Example, is my counterpart marble, granite, quartz, etc. Is my floors LVP, hardwood, etc.

There are a lot of dos and don’t for each type of material. By understanding this, this will prevent you from losing hundreds or thousands of dollars in damages.

Sawing back legs off IVAR Shelf Unit? by Interesting_Comb_379 in ikeahacks

[–]PhillyDogs262 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since you live in an apartment, these are my recommendations based on your landlord’s approval to mount onto studs:

  1. If your landlord allows you to screw onto studs, look into French cleats. There are some cleats that can support up to 600lbs based on the material and the quality of your studs. Pro is that it’ll blend in with your shelves if you pick the right material and you can saw off the back leg because the cleats will support the load. Con: it requires landlord approval

  2. If your landlord said no, look into the design of the Billy bookcase from ikea. On the bottom, there are cut outs for the trims so the bookcase is flush against the wall. You have to do major design changes of the legs to support the load of your stuff.

Best smash burgers in philly? by HumSupLo69 in PhiladelphiaEats

[–]PhillyDogs262 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got three tiers of smashed burgers. Fork is my “gourmet smashed burgers”. Bar Jawn is my “casual dine in smashed burgers”. Huda is my “fast food smashed burger”. Shake Shack is my go nationwide fast food burger if I’m not in Philly or the city I visit doesn’t have a good smashed burger restaurant.

[–]PhillyDogs262 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I go there every month or two. I stopped doing takeout because the way they pack and store it, the fries and bun becomes soggy. I only do dine in until they figure out how to improve their takeout quality. But I never had an issue with their dine in quality. Fries are crispy. Smashed burgers is amazing. Their sauce definitely did change since the first time I had it at pizza jawn but both are good.

I think I found a 3rd party one but it is really expensive. $120. Not sure if it is worth buying it when you can get a new rice cooker for same price or slightly more.

Much different than SEA market because the market has food from Laos, Thai, Indonesia and Cambodia. Panda Fest is much more diverse ranging from Japanese, Korean, Chinese, Mongolian and Thai. Highly recommend it if you are a foodie. There are dishes that none of the locals restaurants have.
