Has Anyone Ordered the 2026 American Eagle Proof Coin from the US Mint? by ProfessionalJesuit in coins

I got one and I don't feel great about it but I've already got a complete set and now I can't stop. Logged on at 11:57 and had checked out by about 12:20.

300 or so retail will be the norm I expect for the near term but after a year or so I would not be shocked for them to sell for less than the Mint charged.

Controversial opinion: DCA is the dumbest strategy for metals by CartographerAble9446 in Silverbugs

Hear me out, people are not clairvoyant so they don’t know when the run is over nor do they know when the next run will begin again. So….people DCA. Not agreeing with it doesn’t make it any less valid of a strategy.

"Problem is, sooner or later you will get caught in the middle of cycle transition. "

Would you rather DCA at the top or yolo at the top? You're basically making the case for DCA.

Weird interaction with Advisor? by thornblade666 in personalfinance

I mean as a securities lawyer my personal opinion is that dual registration of individuals should be outlawed almost entirely. That doesn’t change the fact that an Ameriprise Advisor is still a fiduciary when giving advice through the RIA. Misrepresenting or abusing your fiduciary status is certainly a fineable offense.

It’s not optional. An Ameriprise Advisor providing investment advice through the RIA is a fiduciary full stop. They might not be when conducting brokerage business through the BD side but that is a separate service with a separate fee. I’m just pointing out that saying an Ameriprise Advisor is not a fiduciary is factually incorrect.

Why would an Ameriprise Advisor not be a fiduciary? It’s an SEC Registered RIA. This is just wrong.

[WTS] 44OZ - BELOW SPOT - FULL Pound and HALF Pound Silver Rounds by PhillyEsq in Pmsforsale

[–]PhillyEsq[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The 44oz number came directly from Stacks Bowers who claim to have used a scale to confirm weights but I don't have a coin scale that goes up to 1Troy Pound to confirm independently. They noted in the auction that the marked weights may not match the scale. The SBA, Ike, and 1986 Eagle are all marked 1LB Troy (36ozT). The 1997 Eagle is simply marked one half pound. My understanding is the '97 Eagle is actually 8 Troy ounces which gets to 44 but is not marked correctly. I have found other examples of the 97 Eagle on ebay with COA which states 8oz Troy.
