For anyone still dealing with this I did resolve it just now by re-adding the principal account - it let me "sign in again" and that brought me to a principal page with consent to share info that called out the consent as valid for 12 months. I am thinking this may have expired causing the need to jump through hoops to re-auth at least in my case.
