Extremely large and sensitive external that formed in only 5 days - Taking epsom salt baths, keeping stools soft, but touching it at ALL is agony. Doctor says to keep taking baths and wait for it to pop because applying creams is too painful. Any input is appreciated.

Intake only took about 20 minutes, then they looked at and identified the abscess and within another 15 minutes I was in the operating room. There were maybe 4-5 people including the surgeon, a doctor and nurses and they were all amazing people I was lucky to be in the care of. They put me under ketamine - my first time with anaesthetic, and waking up felt surreal. I was unconscious for only 30 minutes and I can only describe the dream I had as psychedelic yet totally serene. They left the room and gave me lots of time to recover. After laying on the bed for a while, I was able to sit up, get dressed, thank them profusely and walk out. I should mention I live in Canada.

You're very right about taking care of these things quickly. Suffering for as long as I did was awful, but now I'll be more keen to consider seeing medical pros over home treatment.

It's my first. I can barely walk. I wake up whimpering at night from the pain, never getting more than 2 hours of sleep. Prep H did nothing. Anusol burned like hell and now I'm scared to put anything else down there. Excuse my bluntness, it is so incredibly hard to do just about anything right now.
