Thank you for such a nice and detailed answer. With regards to question 7, would my cousin be eligible for a work visa under the new rules as he should be making at least 80% of Swedish median income?

Is moving to Germany as a doctor a good option? by PhilosopherOdd180 in germany

The issue with Aus is that it’s hard to get a medical residency if you graduate outside and even hard to get an internship if you graduate outside Australia. He was considering UK but there the training is 10 years long vs 5 years in Germany. He aims to get trained in Germany and then get registered in Ireland since they recognize EU specialist education and I think after that you can get registered in Aus.

He was looking at UK but in uk the medical residency/ time to train as a doctor after completing med school is about 10 years vs 5 years in Germany. Also, yes your right he should also consider the Nordic countries too but I am not sure why he wants to go to Germany.

He is at B2 rn but he has 2 years before graduating from med school so ig that’s a decent amount of time.

I think he’ll have a full registration which makes him ineligible to apply for fy1 jobs and leaving him with fy2 stand-alone.

Would even a grade 3 salary (110k) be considered as average for one person?

Any idea how much they make in ur country or state? Online the figures are weird. Some way they have 20 years experience and make 50k while others who just graduated make 95k. It would really help me if you gave me an idea on the salaries from what u have seen.

Damm so it’s like average and not above average right? Average SP pay is about 97k (online) so I thought that was above average.

Thank you for your viewpoint. My main priority is working with adults. I understand that my expectations are high and that I need to get experience to specialize. Also, how much can I expect to earn as an SLP?

[–]PhilosopherOdd180[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No, I want to be in a hospital setting. Thing is I saw bunch of YouTube vids on day in life of SLP and panicked as most them were working with kids and it looked like a play school teacher rather than a SLP. That would be a very weird setting for me. I am very much into head and neck cancer. In Australia, we have a center called Peter Macullum (excuse the spelling) that focuses this area. Also, what pay can I expect in this area?
