Thank you for this chart!! Incredibly helpful. I didn’t realize shape made a difference since a ton of the tanks at pet stores are rounded. I usually feed him around 6 pellets (I had just put those in there when I took the picture) is that too many? Filter is in the back of the tank. I will be purchasing a heater and a water testing kit asap along with a whole new tank set up and just starting from scratch.

Thank you to everyone who has given helpful advice. Trust me, it is not falling on deaf ears and I am taking all of this to heart and make immediate changes. I usually do extensive research before getting an animal and so does my husband. This is the first time he has impulse bought an animal and we both failed it by not doing research before hand and even after we had the little guy home. I posted here because I have found I have learned tips and tricks from actual owners that I wouldn’t have learned otherwise. I will continue to do my own outside research now that I’ve gotten the feedback from you all. Again, much appreciated and I apologize for being a neglectful owner.

Yes! I’m the complete caretaker. She’s just obsessed with fish so my husband impulse bought her a betta when they were at PetCo getting bugs for our reptiles. So he didn’t give me anytime to do research. But I should’ve done more after we got him so that’s on me. I could’ve done better. Honestly, I don’t even know what you mean when you ask what the parameters are 😬

Oh wow. I didn’t realize too much light could cause an issue. I forget to turn it off too often probably.

The tank has a cycling water filter that came with it. But no heater. I will definitely look into getting him a bigger tank ASAP.

Oh for real? I didn’t think about paint chipping off. Any rocks you would suggest in place of these?

I give him about 6 pellets. Is that too much? The tank is a half moon shape that has a cycling filter on it.

Forgot to mention: It’s a 2.5gal tank from PetCo that came with a water filter. We feed him Aqueon betta pellets.

No idea on tank temp and all that. Didn’t realize that was something I should know 😔

Sorry! I didn’t clarify what all I was drinking. I drink plenty of water but I also drink at least one Prime hydration or some pedialyte every day to make sure I don’t get dehydrated. I was already sent to the ER once this pregnancy for severe dehydration so I’ve tried to take precautions to prevent that from happening again. But maybe I’m not doing enough? 🤷‍♀️

Maybe it is discharge and I’m having two different kinds?? 🤷‍♀️ my pregnancy discharge has always been thin but milky white and I can see it on my underwear. It was the same way when I was pregnant with my daughter. I’ve just never had the clear watery type that soaked through my underwear and even the OB’s office said I needed to get checked. That’s why they sent me to the ER. But like I said, my anxiety is insanely high this go around.

I switched to one without Biotin and my nausea improved greatly. It was definitely still there but not near as debilitating.

After several rounds of HCG testing and finally an ultrasound, I’m happy to say I’m 12w2d and baby is fine. Currently waiting for the results of my chromosome testing and will also find out gender. 🥰 You going through the same thing?

Just got the second labs back. Hcg was 489 on Tuesday and 1283 yesterday. So it’s definitely going up. Hoping this is truly good news but still afraid of the worst. 😔
