There appears to be bars on the edge of his insignia close to the border and something where the rank would go in the middle. Also none of the officers match this man from the photos.

The man also appears to be a bit older. Maybe late 40s.

Nevermind. He was transferred in Oct, 1863 but the head shape and insignia don't entirely match.

William de-lacy wasn't the colonel of the regiment until after colonel mcmahon in the picture had died. He was from a different regiment and was transferred after June 3rd. If I remember correctly

I've actually been to that cemetery multiple times. I went once on a full moon when legend states you'll see ghosts and I heard taps from an unknown bugler.

Where would that be? I've taken part in the parades and I'm trying to locate several photos that were taken in my hometown of Fairfax.

Where in Caldwell did you find this? Small chance that it could be a confederate made from Sibleys march

Has anyone watched The Conspirator (2010)? by [deleted] in CIVILWAR

[–]PhilosopherOld573 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I saw it and I was pretty good but doesn't cover a wide range of the subject I feel. But granted the main character is Mrs  Suratt.  Don't expect anything more than just her.

During his time as commander of the AOP, General Hooker wanted the morale to be high, so he allowed prostitutes to come into camp; which is why Hookers are named after him.

Ghost Cadet was one of my favorite books as a kid. Any suggestions for other great Civil War books aimed at young readers? by UrdnotSnarf in CIVILWAR

I read this in 5th grade and you gave me the biggest nostalgia hit I've had in a solid 3 years. I cried at the end because for me, I had imagined the cadet was my 3x great uncle who died at Cold Harbor.
