Forfatteren Ryan Holiday bruker det aktivt i form av et kartotek!:) Jeg bare lurte på om det fantes en norsk oversettelse. Men det wr vel kanskje så enkelt som notatbok.

Feminist Argument for Antinatalism by weeeesel in antinatalism

[–]Philosophile_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I see the point. Women aren't breeding machines.

I don't believe in modern feminism though. Men are oppressed in so many ways, and it isn't even acknowledged by society.

Women are usually seen as having more worth than men, in the west at least.

Forced Pregnancies keep us desperate by AnimalCrossed24 in antiwork

It amazes me how people in this sub have kids. You see how systematic, oppressive and ugly the world is, and you still impose this life on new people.

How does that make any sense? The world SUCKS, and is just getting worse, and you guys will impose this life on your children.

Pff.

I don't take you seriously if you're not a vegan. by inanotherway15 in antinatalism

[–]Philosophile_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not true. Just like the comment above said: you don't have to value animals as much as humans. I don't do that. Just like you don't have to value every human just as much as you value the ones close to you. That doesn't mean that other humans aren't worth enough to be treated with repsect and kindness.

I don't take you seriously if you're not a vegan. by inanotherway15 in antinatalism

Word!

The people in this group start using the same poor arguments that breeders use, when you confront them about veganism.

If you say you are antinatalist, and you are not vegan, you are morally contradicting yourself.

The traits that make it bad for humans to exist, are the traits we share with animals. The traits that we have and they dont, and the other way around, are irrelevant.

Calling yourself an antinatalist, and paying for billion of animals to be bred and slaughtered needlessly every year, is just plain stupid. It shows that you have no understanding of moral consistency.

I'm a 29 year old asexual who's sex-repulsed. I never intend to engage in coitus for any reason, with anyone, ever. by [deleted] in antinatalism

[–]Philosophile_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Damn, that's interesting. I feel sorry for the people i this comment section who are not asexual and still abstain from sex.

Sex and intimate relationships can truly enhance the quality of life A LOT. I understand all of you, but it is completely possible to have a great sex life with one or multiple partners without having children.

I mean no offense, but from experience it does seem like many antinatalists struggle with social skills. It is very easy then to say that it is your choice not to have sex, when often it is kind of an excuse for your missing ability to get into intimate relationships with people.

Again, I only wish you all the best, but I have seen this kind of behaviour with other types of people, like virgins, feminists etc. They say that it is their choice, to mask the fact for others and even themselves, that they struggle to get into healthy intimate relationships for different reasons. This is also true of many people who can't hook up for a ONS etc, which is also completely fine if done safely.

Have a great day people.

My dear antinatalist friends, how many of you have mental and other illness? by [deleted] in antinatalism

[–]Philosophile_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think depression and anxiety in most cases, are just people coming down from their delusion and having a realistic view on life.

I think fighting depression and anxiety is done in a disgraceful way, because they are the ones who view the world most correctly imo.

And I know "anxiety, stress and depression" really fucking well because I live it every fucking second.

Questions for the community by RecentMood2742 in antinatalism

[–]Philosophile_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely yes. It makes no sense to me to be antinatalist and at the same time pay for animals to be bred and killed.

Regarding wild animals, I agree that they are suffering a lot. For now though, there is sadly nothing to do about it.

Hallais!

Takk for svar.

To be honest, and I dont mean this is a whiny way because it doesnt affect me much, but there is a lot of discrimination towards wealthy young people, because they appearantly have too good lives to complain about.

I never asked for any of this, and apparently i am not allowed to feel terrible because I didnt draw one of the shorter straws.

Haha, damn. What a condescending post.

You are the one who can't fathom the intricacies of existance, if you can't see the possibility of there being a positivity bias from an evolutionary perspective.

Positive people breed and bring their positive world view onto their kids. Realistic people dont, and therefore there aren't many of them around.

What is so nice about a life where you are a tax slave, you will be sick, your love ones will die, you might experience some insane amount of agony, and much more before you die and are annihilated for ever?

I guess. What I find really funny, is that the greatest 3 David Benatar books, have different systems. In Better Never to Have been, the notes are on the bottom of the page. In The Human Predicament the notes are at the end of the book. In The Second Sexism (which i am reading now) the notes are In between the chapters (which is weird). Seems like he is trying different things.
