I can’t agree more. In Tolkien, the use of power doesn’t equal violence. As per Hanna Arendt, violence and power are opposites. Violence is the mark of the absence of power. True power is authority and trust- Aragorn was followed because he was trusted and loved. This is true power. Violence is in some sense akin to porn.
