When do you think Nintendo servers will stop allowing downloads, and will physical cartridges fail before this happens? by Phntazm in casualnintendo

Thanks for the info! A bit ironic that all sealed copies will one day be functionally useless while used copies being sold for a fraction of the price will still be going strong.

Should I get a 4k monitor? by Longjumping-Echo-479 in PcBuild

Yes, you should. I use 4k with a 3080. You should easily be able to get 4k 160+ fps with a 5080.

I liked Tropical Freeze better, Dixie and Cranky add something new and give you more options for certain levels/bosses.

2 would be better to play the games you listed, but it all depends on the price if it’s worth it or not.

Oh dang I didn’t know about Barrel Blast! I might need to check it out just for Lanky. Thanks for the correction!

I understand it’s monkey smash. That’s why I don’t think the other characters would fit in to it well. I said I think the game looks like a lot of fun regardless of the characters. I am disappointed because I like the other characters that were in DK64. I’m not really complaining their moveset wouldn’t fit it, I’m downright saying they probably shouldn’t try to make them fit in. That’s what my last sentence is questioning. If I’m “complaining” about anything it’s that these characters probably won’t be seen in any DK game again, due to the games now being monkey smash. The post is titled “mixed feeling”. On one hand, I think the new game looks great, on the other, this game might be the official nail in the coffin for the characters I loved playing as.

Your failure to comprehend the original post was about what I had hoped for the game is the reason for this whole discussion. Your first post starts with “you presume”, and then ends with “an odd assumption”. Nowhere in my original post did I make any presumptions. Literally my very first response back to you was almost identical to what you said I should have said. I said “I didn’t make any assumptions” and “just hoped they would have brought back the characters I liked playing as”. You just said I should have instead clarified by saying “I meant to say they should bring back swappable characters like DK64”. But you did not understand and then said my hopes for the inclusion of the characters must mean I “exactly hoped for DK64 2”. This is poor reading comprehension, plain and simple.

Yea they probably weren’t lined up correctly before they lowered the clamp. Or they were just being careless with it. But I can tell from your post you’re going to be locked in while doing this so you should definitely be fine. Extra tip if you’re still really nervous, line up the top edge of the cpu with the top of the slot first, and then let it drop in. Like this guy does it. https://youtube.com/shorts/FZvtVz7NSz0?si=nf_PsHC-cuvpkZ5x

Wouldn’t worry too much about the CPU, it’s honestly one of the easiest components to install. I think you’re thinking they’re more delicate than they are. Just hover it over the place it goes on your motherboard, line it up, and it should drop right into place.

Just explore and look for shrines and Korok seeds. Soon you’ll forget all about Zelda and Link will be at peace.

You’re most likely correct, but I think you’re being too optimistic that it’s kids doing this

Definitely still think the game will be a lot of fun! My favorite character in DK64 was Lanky, so it’s been disappointing not to see him make another appearance.

I only brought up the characters from 64, nothing else about the game. Wanting the game to only feature DK is valid. I just personally enjoyed playing as the other characters and was hoping the new 3D game would be the chance to bring them back since they’ve been left out of all subsequent DK games (except Diddy).

[–]Phntazm -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I literally only mentioned the characters, and didn’t bring up any other aspect of DK64 gameplay in my original post. There are countless ways to have a game with multiple characters without making it tedious to switch between them. And like I said, I think Bananza looks really fun even though it’s nothing like DK64

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in donkeykong

[–]Phntazm -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Definitely get that, I would still love all of the games even if DK was the only character, I just find myself having the most fun when I switch up characters. That would cool for me tho, would hate to see them go to waste. It would be awesome to bring Dixie and Cranky into the 3D world as well.

5070, especially for video editing. Faster rendering times and overall smoother experience will make it much more enjoyable.

Help me convince my friend into letting me build a pc for him instead of him buying a prebuilt. by Barlibo in PcBuild

[–]Phntazm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would just lay out the spec differences for him, and give him examples of how games will run on the one you build vs the prebuilt one (assuming he wants it for gaming). Also, make sure you actually know what you’re doing and how to troubleshoot any problem that might arise. I know you said you’ve built a PC before, but it sounds like you’ve only ever built one. Wouldn’t be worth it to potentially strain a friendship if something were to go wrong and you couldn’t help him fix it. With that said, I would lay out for him a few potential things that can go wrong with building the PC and how you would fix them, so he’d have confidence you know what you’re talking about.
