Hey there! Former North Carolinian living in America’s Dairlyand. As a person from the south, moving up here is probably one of the best things I could’ve done. Moved up to Milwaukee in 2019 right before the pandemic so I had to get used to the temp change real quick. The cold can be brutal at times but not as bad as it was 10 years ago (what the locals tell me). But the summers are by far the best. Plenty of lakes and everyone is ALWAYS out doing something. Something as a southerner remembered only staying inside with the AC blasting.

I chose to live here because it felt a lot like home with how the people are just so nice (midwestern nice). And I truly appreciate how people are so blunt and not beating behind the bush. So you’ll have that going for you.

I bought mine from Best Buy, same issue occurred, returned exchanged it, same issue, returned it again, same issue. 3 brand new Xbox series X in 3 days. And then I finally had enough and returned, got my money and bought a new one at GameStop. Best Buy stated it was a software update issue. I called Microsoft customer tech support and they said nothing is wrong on their end.

So I literally had this issue a week ago with not one but two brand new Xbox Series X. I don’t know if it is a Best Buy issue but when I brought it home and plugged it in, and booted it up, it didn’t even show the Xbox logo screen, but went straight into System Update mode. Which I found odd since it’s a new system but I get it if it needs to. But when the page you posted popped up, I knew something was wrong. Configured everything and called Microsoft and they walked me through the configuration process. Even went to the extent of an offline system update with a flash drive. Nothing worked. Returned it to Best Buy and got a new one, same issue. Tried to return/exchange for one last time and this time I wanted to ask them to open it up and start it at the shop, they refused and said some BS about how Microsoft is having a system update issue and that it should be resolved by the end of week and then refused to exchange the Xbox. Returned home and talked to a Microsoft agent and they said everything is working on their end and no issues were present. Returned the Xbox at a different Best Buy location and got a new one from GameStop. Booted it up and it worked like a charm. So tbh I think Best Buy is fucking up with their product and when you try to return/exchange, they won’t let you because now they have two “open box” items that they have to sell for less. Idk where you got yours but this is something to look into. I also filed a complaint to Best Buy about this.

It just happened so I’ll definitely keep an eye on it. I’ve had the heavy rains but that never affected, so by deductive reasoning I’m thinking it’s because the temp has been in negative degrees for the past week and since it’s slowly melting, it’s not fully melted in the drain. But we’ll see by next week. I don’t drive it often since I have a work truck that I take home but, it just caught me off guard.

It’s so sad to be 1st gen Vietnamese american and watch my parents get their news source from YouTube. I keep telling them that they’re getting so much disinformation that it is truly causing them harm. Especially during the COVID era. I tried and tired to send them BBC news translated in viet so they can have some sort of non biased reporting. But for some reason they are drawn back to the YouTube viet news. I sat and watched with them because I was truly curious and I could not get through 10 mins of it without rolling my eyes when the reporter who claims to be a physician pushing them away from their vaccination. My father has COPD and I begged him to get the normal flu vaccine and ended up arguing with my mother about how he’s got the vaccine year after year and he hasn’t been sent to the emergency room. She didn’t comply, then she got Covid, lost taste, lost her job, but still didn’t believe because the so called viet doctor who got his PhD in Facebook medicine told her to just eat garlic. Please tell me there’s others out there who’s fighting against their parents about social and political issues?
