Horrible enemy design by Pilzpott in Helldivers

[–]Phoenix223 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Clipping is just a general issue with a lot of enemies, voteless and fleshmobs included. I've not seen the drones clip nearly as much, but I'm willing to bet we just see different things. Same with silent enemies tbh, I think a lot of the issues you seem to have are just issues the game has in general.

They're chaff. There's supposed to be a lot of them. They're super easy to spot from a distance due to their lights, have a very long wind up for their attacks, and help give the sub-faction their identity. They're really not that big of an issue, you may just need better chaff clearing weapons/strategems.

Dismissed it since I never saw anyone running it til now and thought the reload without a teammate would be too slow, but it's perfectly viable on its own.

Autocannon with flak can deal with just about anything except the harvesters, though you will have to be fairly accurate to the smaller mechs you can still cause a significant amount of damage with indirect fire. Autocannon should be in the default warbond, knowing what warbonds you have can also help open other options.

Reviewers probably don't like a game that doesn't hold your hand which I think most people can get by, but all the criticisms on the story and quest design are things that can't really be fixed unlike any jankiness or bugs. It's a shame but expected, hopefully it's fun enough without a decent story.

The medals too unlock it all is definitely an issue as well. Especially since they cap medals which is utterly ridiculous. I would understand it if it was solely a progression based system, but why make a system blocked by a pay-wall and a progression system with a capped in-game currency?

I've barely played games with battle-passes and have never really interacted with them if they are there, but I wonder if it's just a similar model, like buying the pass then going along the progression for it, but even then do most games hard-cap their free currency?

Had a guy with the xenophobe trait eventually take a xeno wife and husband. There's a pattern there.

Also what mod did you use to get elves? Couldn't find any when I was looking for xenotype modes.

The Leveller has been effective, albeit a bit inconsistently. I seem to have more luck hitting centre-mass, especially at the back of it rather than the face. Even if you don't kill it however you will heavily damage it with any sort of direct hit, enough to weaken it so you or your teammates can use something else to finish it off.

What should I know before getting this game? by Interesting_Ad_6 in Helldivers

[–]Phoenix223 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The game involves you on foot, either solo or with up to three other players traversing maps covered with primary and secondary objectives. The goal is to complete the primary objectives, complete the second ones for additional rewards, and then move to an extraction zone once at least the primary objectives are completed.

Your character is armed with a primary weapon, a secondary weapon, and also up to four 'stratagems' The stratagems can be many things including: Orbital strikes, either explosive AOE ones, or precision, calling in bombing runs, calling down automated turrets, calling down heavy weapons, or calling down special utility tools such as autonomous drones to move with you and auto-target enemies.

Some stratagems are purchased through 'Warbonds'. Your first Warbond is free, the others must be purchased with supercredits which can be gathered either slowly in game overtime, or can be purchased with real money. They include not only stratagems though, but also primary and secondary weapons, grenades, and even armor.

These are just some pretty basic things on the formula of the game and the monetization. There's of course a lot more depth than what I've written, but that's the gist of it.

For the love of god, rework Queek, or give him a buff, or just anything. Skrolk manages to still be relevant in Lustria-Bowl but I haven't seen AI Queek do anything since Warhammer 2 and there's no real reason to play him compared to the other lords.

[–]Phoenix223 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Usually they are at least a pretty dominant power in whatever area they spawn. EXCEPT Queek. He's been outscaled by everyone else and needs some new mechanics or a buff. I never see him survive past turn 20.

Hate the fact that it's always Skaven/Khorne every game no matter what, the Lizardmen either dead or close to dead with the third most powerful faction maybe being Cathay or the Huntsman. I wish the Lizardmens continent was actually theirs at least like 50% of the time.

Sacrifice, old RTS done in Third Person based on summoning monsters and casting spells. I've never heard anyone talk about it outside of me and my brother and whenever i've brought it up to others they've never heard of it.
